[PICS] Bob Bondurant, Corvette Stingrays and Monterey!

A couple weekends ago at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, Bob Bondurant was honored by Corvette for all his contributions to the brand which span more than 50 years! As part of the festivities, the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving was loaned a couple of 2014 Corvette Stingrays by Chevrolet and provided hot laps at Laguna Seca throughout the day.

Driving the two Corvette Stingrays were not your ordinary instructors as it must have been decided that the hot laps would be given by two Bondurant executives. In the Velocity Yellow Stingray sat Johnny O’Connell while the red Corvette was piloted by Darren Law.

During the ceremony with Chevrolet, Bob is shown holding the plaque while Corvette’s Product Marketing Manager Harlan Charles leads a round of applause for the legendary racer. Bob also waved the green flag to get one of the many races of the day underway.

The Bondurant School of High Performance Driving has big plans for the rest of 2013. It all starts this fall when the facility will receive 32 Velocity Yellow 2014 Z51 Corvette Stingrays. If you’ve seen this photo of the Corvette factory and said to yourself, “that’s a lot of Yellow Corvettes”, now you know the reason why!

Also happening this fall is the Corvettes @ Bondurant event hosted by Corvette Hall of Famer Johnny O’Connell at the Bondurant track. You will not want to miss this great two-day performance driven event!
