Bloomington Gold 2013 Registration Opens February 15th

The 2013 rendition of the Bloomington Gold Corvette show is just about 4 months away and now’s the time to sign up if you’re planning on attending or showing a car. Registration for this year’s show opens up on Friday, February 15th. The June 28-30th festival of Corvettes will be held for the first time this year on the University of Illinois campus in Champaign.

After a decade-long run in St. Charles, IL west of Chicago the organizers at Bloomington Gold elected to move the show to a new location in order to facilitate bigger and better events like an autocross and a new and improved GoldTour. Several “Mini-Tours” are planned as well. Click here to take gander at the complete weekend schedule.

Other activities over the course of the 41st annual show include the hallmark events of Gold, Survivor, and Benchmark judging in addition to the Mecum all-Corvette Auction on Saturday. Judging candidates should get their registration forms in pronto as classes often fill up quickly. On Friday, attendees can increase their Corvette knowledge in one of several GoldSchool seminars. Before you go, be sure to order up your 2013 Bloomington Gold Commemorative license plate. Various vendors and aftermarket suppliers will be selling their wares throughout the weekend while Corvettes of all years will be taunting potential new owners over in the GoldMine.

If you get tired of looking at Corvettes (yeah, like that’d ever happen), you can attend the Survivor car show on Sunday and take in some of the finest unrestored cars in all makes and models around.

As much as we’re going to miss the green carpet of Pheasant Run in St. Charles, we’re looking forward to seeing what’s in store in the next generation of Bloomington Gold. Along with a new generation of Corvette, it’s sure to be another fantastic event.

Bloomington Gold 2013 will take place June 28-30, 2013 at the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL. Admission is $20 per day at the door and $15 per day in advance. 3-day passes can be had for $40 in advance or $50 at the gate. For more information on the show check out
