SPEED's Chop Cut Rebuild Creates a Grand Sport Tribute Corvette

We’d all like to combine the styling cues of an iconic Corvette with the underpinnings of a modern C6.

Not many of us have the skills or money to perform such a transformation, however.

But thanks to the popular SPEED Channel show, Chop Cut Rebuild, and Corvette Specialty of California, we can all witness a C6 change into a Grand Sport tribute over the course of several episodes. And it won’t cost us a dime.

CCR host Dan Woods led the team of experts as they completed the massive amount of work in less than nine months in time for the SEMA Show.

CSOC took care of the body work, giving Woods an education in the art of applying fiberglass, all captured in front of the CCR cameras for Corvette fans to watch.

Pftadt Race Engineering upgraded the suspension, and Edelbrock fabricated the E-Force supercharger that’s worth an extra 200 horses under the hood. Baer brakes and Rated X wheels also added to the car’s mojo.

Laurent and Mike Bensaid of CSOC facelifted the interior, replacing the stock trim with leather and suede everywhere in shades of black and gray accented with blue stitching.

The resulting final product offers no shades of gray when it comes to opinions, however. You either love the design or have a few questions about it, but you definitely can’t find any fault in the overall craftsmanship.
