New Renderings of the Corvette-based Endora SC-1

It was back in May we first learned about the Endora SC-1, a new German custom coach that will be powered by America’s finest V8 Small block engines. Sure we’ve seen custom supercars built on the Corvette chassis before. The Bertone Mantide and Rossi 66 are two of our favorites. But with these latest renderings, the German-based SC-1 is beginning to look distinctly Corvette-like and is moving up our charts of favorite vaporware vettes.

In this latest update, you can see the Endora SC-1 shed those retro rear quarter panels that covered the top part of the tires. In our opinion this helps streamline the body and makes the car more Corvette-like. In fact, the designers must have taken Corvette 101 in art school as there are many other little flourishes that appear to pay homage to America’s sports car. The Endora SC-1 maintains the side body depressions that also remind us of the two tone coves on the C1 Corvette. But the car isn’t completely retro. The wedge shape, LED fog-lights and the side mounted exhaust tips are some nice touches as well.

Buyers will have the opportunity to select from the full range of Corvette power. The standard power plant is GM’s 6.2 liter LS3 with 430 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque. If that’s not enough power for the German autobahn, customers can upgrade to the 505 horsepower 7.0-liter LS7 from the Z06 or the 638 horsepower and 604 pound-feet of torque from the 6.2-liter supercharged LS9.

The company is taking orders so it will be interesting to see if the Endora SC-1 is able to make the jump from computer renderings to real life. No price is given, but the company says production is planned to start in the near future.
