This extra widebody Corvette Z06 from Dubai was spotted on the Corvette Forum under a thread entitled “This widebody stuff is getting ridiculous“. SS-Vette.com makes the flared rear panels which gives the Corvette a 6” wider stance over the standard stock Z06/Grand Sport quarter panels.
We celebrate diversity here at CorvetteBlogger as we recognize that many owners view Corvettes as a blank canvas for which to customize. However, I’m not sure what is crazier, the 6″ width gain or the fact that to fill out the wheel tubs, the kit utilizes a 3.5″ spacer with the standard 325/30ZR19 Z06 tires. You could almost turn this widebody into a duelie!

Actually doesn’t look terrible. i’d need a walk around (an extra-wide walkaround) before I really decided though.
I like it, but you’d need new, stupid fat wheels/tires to properly fill it. I hope the 3.5″ spacer is just temporary till your new wheels come in. I’m sure the rear hubs would just love those spacers/adapters. Once those custom 13″ wheels arrive, those 6″+ lip, deep-dish wheels would be just killer!
A little too much of a good thing. Reminiscent of a John Greenwood kit.
I wonder if it detracts from performance. Is frontal area calculated as a 2D flat image taken from the front of the car? If so, then perhaps the flares add to it, which addsto drag. Not using wider tires doesn’t seem to make sense. How big of a tire is even available?
Why no comparable change to the front?
It also seems something should be done with the rear end panel too to make it wider. I bet if the lights were simply moved farther from the middle, but kept the same spacing as a pair, that it would look better.
needs tires alla lamborghini murcialago to fill out the back. other than that, it doesnt bother me. its tastefull
