Continuing with our round-up of Corvette results at the nation’s top automotive and classic car auctions this summer, we turn our attention to the Des Moines High Performance Auction held by Mecum High Performance Auctions on July 28th. The one day event brought together a diverse group of 17 Corvettes with 13 of those Corvettes selling. That’s a very respectable sales rate of 76%. The Corvettes at Des Moines were mostly in the vintage of 1967-1995 excluding the few on either end of that spectrum that were no-sales. High price went to a 1967 Corvette Convertible with the base 327 ci 300hp engine. This documented 2-owner Corvette fetched $64,050. A 1978 Replica Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Corvette sold for $19,950 and a 1991 Corvette ZR-1 sold for $23,363. Here are the full results:
