1958 Dual Quad Corvette ConvertibleBarrett-Jackson's Palm Beach Collector Car Auction begins tonight and Speed TV will be broadcast three hours of coverage beginning at 9pm eastern time. Tonight and Friday night's 6 hours of coverage will be tape-delayed, but on Saturday, Speed TV will be broadcasting the auction live from 12 noon to 8 pm. Time to set the TIVO!

Looking through the list of available Corvettes, this 1958 Convertible really caught my eye and will be one to watch when it crosses the auction block. Lot number 674 is a 283 ci/245 hp dual quad Corvette in Panama Yellow with White Coves and a charcoal interior. The engine is coupled to a 4-speed transmission and it has the rare power top option. Less than 12% of the Corvettes in 1958 had the RPO 473 Power Folding Top option. The Corvette was recently treated to a no expenses spared restoration to NCRS specifications. Check out the awards this Corvette has won over the last couple of years:

Multiple NCRS Regional and National Top Flight Awards 2004-2006
NCRS Performance Verification Award 2006
Bloomington Gold Certification 2004
Gold Spinner Concourse Award 2004
TRIPLE CROWN 2004
NCRS Duntov Award 2006

The 1958 Corvette model year has seen its values skyrocket over the last five years, appreciating at a whopping 76%. Our average price is $46,200 but if this Corvette is well documented and with the awards it has won, it should be close to, if not surpass, our high price of $145,000.
