The latest Corvette sales report from General Motors was released last week. Despite the factory not producing new Corvettes, Chevrolet still sold 1,345 Corvettes during the month. This is a 48.8% decline in sales from the 2,626 sold during October 2016. For the Calendar Year to Date, a total of 20,236 Corvettes were sold. This is a 20.2% decline from the 25,345 Corvettes sold during the same time period in 2016.
There was a lot that has happened regarding ordering and production of new Corvettes in the last month, so here is a quick recap: Chevrolet announced an early end for 2018 Corvettes. The final order date for 2018 Corvettes is November 16th. So just 10 days remaining if you want to order a 2018 Corvette. The last week of 2018 Production is January 22nd with 2019 Corvettes starting up on January 29th.
We are expecting the 2019 Order Guide to drop on November 20th and yes, we are expecting to see the 2019 Corvette ZR1 as a new model in the Order Guide. Don’t be surprised to see the 2019 Corvette ZR1 revealed sometime prior to the Order Guide’s publication.
Many employees of the Bowling Green Assembly Plant have reported back to work today. Chevrolet already started building saleable 2018s last week. Customer ordered cars are expected to start production in a couple more weeks.
GM is now offering Employee Pricing on 2017 Corvettes (and dealers like Kerbeck are offering even more substantial discounting). This month, Chevrolet has extended the Chevrolet Loyalty Rebate of $3,000 to both 2017 and 2018 Corvettes. You must own a 1999 or newer Chevrolet to quality. Lastly, Chevrolet.com is showing a special $500 Cash Allowance on all four 2018 Corvette models (Base, Z51, Grand Sport and Z06). See your Chevrolet dealer for details.

General Motors sold 194,512 vehicles in October 2017 to retail customers. Chevrolet’s retail sales totaled 128,208. Exceptionally strong crossover deliveries at Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac helped the company achieve an estimated retail market share of 17 percent or more for the third consecutive month. The last time GM delivered three consecutive months at or above a 17 percent retail share was July-September 2011.

Just went to Chevrolet.com and it states ” no rebates on 2018″. And would it be for in stock 2018’s and not ordered like other deals only at time of delivery.
Read comment above three times and understand it less every time. All I can say is “huh?”.
“Customer ordered cars are expected to start production in a couple more weeks.”
Questions- since the BG plant has already built some 75 salable cars (of which 13 apparently had panels painted in the previous paint shop), what will everyone be doing over the next two weeks before they start production on ordered cars? Will they be training? This means that the first real post-factory upgrade TPW for ordered cars will be 11/20?
Went to Chevrolet.com this evening and the $500 rebate is indeed there now and it is for any 2018 model Corvette where the purchaser takes delivery before the end of November
We spoke with a couple of our dealers who told us the target production week for their first orders following the shutdown are 11/20. I am sure that some customer ordered cars may be built earlier than that. The plant will also be building stock orders as well during this time.
