With the release of the first 2023 Corvette Z06s to dealers this morning, our friends at the National Corvette Museum are also getting in on the fun. This afternoon, they posted two photos of a wrapped Z06 Corvette arriving on a transporter from the Corvette Assembly Plant!

The pics were captioned by the following, “We received a special delivery today! Can anyone guess what it might be?” Another photograph shows a caption saying, “We received a special delivery today. However, we’re afraid it won’t stay under wraps much longer…

The Corvette appears to be Red under its white shipping cover and is optioned with the Z07 package, visible carbon fiber wheels, and yellow brake calipers.

Although we are not all that up to date on the scheduling of R8C deliveries, I believe the timeframe from arrival to delivery on Corvette Boulevard is roughly somewhere between two to three weeks. We know from tuning into the webcams from time to time that the floor is always filled in the morning with new Stingrays each day, and an update from 2021 had them scheduling 55 deliveries per week.

We can imagine Shane at the NCM giving the new owner the great news that their car had been released from the Quality Control hold this morning and would be arriving at the NCM later today.

Days like today are fun for sure!

  1. So they wrapped the car in white for shipping and then loaded it on a transporter and took it across the street? HaHaHaHa, and people are wondering why this whole Z06 thing is so fucked up. I feel sorry for all the poor SOB’s that ordered their cars (and put $$$ down) MONTHS ago and still don’t have a clue when they might receive it or what the final cost will be.

  2. My first thought after reading this article was also wondering why they bother to wrap the car and put it on a transport truck just to take the SOB across the street. Why can’t they just drive it over there? Very lame in my opinion.

  3. $1K Destination fee , S/B Waved , Mary Barra is Driving GM Down with the Electric Crapboxes They want to force on Everyone

  4. Ronnie i am one of the SOB’s who put down a deposit. And it really looks like i will never see a car. the worst is Mary is behaving like our current government. Lie to everyone and then redirect their attention with 70th anniversary cars and electric Vettes when they can’t even build enough Z 51’s.

  5. Pretty sure from the description of Red car with Yellow calipers, Z07 & Visible Carbon Fiber Components if that is correct then this would be Austin Everett’s (Speed Phenoms) Z06 build.
    If so congratulation Austin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. They wrap it just to take it across the street, because cause some people who buy brand new cars are just that anal, some even want to know the number of asses that have been in the seat, and it better be very close to none!

  7. Jon Wheelis, yep that is Austin’s car. He’s currently in Kentucky at a hotel close to the museum waiting to take delivery. I believe he’s taking delivery on Tuesday at 10am. But regardless of the time. I’m glad that someone who will actually drive/track the car is getting one of the first delivery’s if not the first. Can’t wait tj see them putting times down.
