One of the many ways that the Corvette Team differs from other premium and exotic sports car manufacturers are the open and direct lines of communication lines they maintain with their customers. At shows like the NCM Bash and Corvettes at Carlisle, we have the opportunity to talk and engage directly with team members at the highest levels and they generally listen to our concerns and recommendations and even incorporate some of those into future models.
So in this spirit of providing feedback to the Corvette team, I wanted to share with them these results of a poll we ran on Wednesday asking customers about being able to choose the color of their Corvette Z06’s LT6 intake manifold color.
Earlier this week, Chevrolet and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced the 70th Anniversary 2023 Corvette Z06 would be the official pace car of the 2022 Indianapolis 500. Showing through the rear engine hatch is the LT6 intake manifold in Edge Red!
Up until this week, the only intake manifold color we’ve ever seen on the car is black. Following last October’s official reveal, Chevrolet has shown an Edge Red version as a display and of course, the LT6 cutaway display shows a silver intake manifold on top of the 670-hp DOHC V8 engine. Chevrolet engineers at the Petersen Museum’s Z06 Reveal in October had told us privately that offering multiple colors was “under consideration” but no decisions had been revealed at the time.
Our poll asked Corvette buyers which color they would purchase if all three colors were produced and overwhelmingly the Edge Red interior was selected. Of 650 respondents, 80% want to be able to add an Edge Red intake manifold versus just 12% for the Silver and 8% for the black.
Now that we have provided some new customer research data on this topic, let’s hope Chevrolet plans to offer additional colors of unique dual intake manifolds that sit on top of the 670-hp flat-plane crank V8 engine.

I voted for black. It what is this nonsense? They have not even released the price of the car due to bidenflatin and we are taking about manifold colors and Indy pace cars !!!! Come on I am one of at least 10,000 suckers who put down $5,000 build the dam car and stop worrying about backup assist and colors of engine parts
Haven’t put down anything because I can’t afford one but sure would like to see the intake in red.
If they are truly listening, why do we have exterior paint colors like caffeinated turd brown and no exotic greens or purples? In fact, why do we not even have pricing for the Z06 yet?
No car but let’s worry about color on the intake maybe they will mail the red paint cans to us.

Yeah, red and I don’t need that expensive “hat” on top of it. I want to see the engine which has enough style in itself. No if they want a likely real popular option to sell to us…make that engine intake in carbon fiber itself.
