Corvette Delivery Dispatch with National Corvette Seller Mike Furman for July 11th

Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

After a long-deserved vacation, the nation’s top Corvette seller is back and has offered up this post featuring some of his latest new Corvette deliveries to these excited owners. Mike can deliver new Corvettes locally, at the NCM, or across the country via courtesy deliveries and direct-to-driveway shipping and we see plenty of examples of that flexibility in today’s Dispatch. ~I receive three weeks vacation per year and I worked through the first two weeks slated for April and June but I did not plan on missing the 3rd week of my time off. Corvettes are like the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon, always a close connection even when you least expect it. First morning we get out of the car in a shopping market in Delaware and two guys are standing next to a C5 Corvette with 120k on the odometer in the parking lot. One of them recognized me from my forum posts and asked if I knew his high school (1964 grad) friend Steve ***? I said yes he is my Corvette customer and I sold him and his wife Corvettes over the years and I have donated auction items for his clubs charity functions. 10 seconds out of the car on my first morning off 165 miles East of my home and I swear I was not wearing any Corvette logo’s!

The previous week I received a text from Chuck Valentini who is the head of the Paint facility at the Corvette Plant in Bowling Green, KY. He was going to be vacationing in Ocean City, MD and wanted to know about getting together to play golf. I made a tee time at Lighthouse Sound Golf Club in Bishopville, Maryland to play 18 holes and had a quick lunch. Great guy and we had an awesome time that morning.

Yesterday I attended a Corvette show for a great charity located in Haymarket, Va. (90 minutes West of my Home) The show is called Vettes for Vets. It is to help out The Willing Warriors retreat at Bull Run. Wayne Carini of Chasing Classic Cars was a special guest and we spoke Corvettes for 8-10 minutes as I brought my Red Mist 2021 Corvette Convt to the show. My hats off to Chuck Berge, Paul and all the volunteers that helped raise so much money for the Veterans, the true heroes of our Nation. ~Even Tom Cruise is a Corvette guy…My 45 seconds of fame was wrestling Tom Cruise in high school. I hurt his shoulder (separated it)and he defaulted 45 seconds in to the match. See reference below. True story, he even spoke about it on Oprah. His real name is Thomas C. Maypother IIII, His middle initial C stood for Cruise and the rest is history.

**I was in the office the first of July before departing for vacation so here are some deliveries…I’m back in the office this week and will be busy…I had 41 of my sold orders get built last week…and yes it was a short week of only 4 days of production!

~Joe and Patty M. Of Smithtown, NY( Long Island) drove down 285 miles to take delivery of their first new Corvette since 1985. As you can tell from the 2nd picture that they have owned Corvettes in the past, even bought one of their C3’s from Pete Z. at Malcolm Konner Chevrolet! Joe ordered an Arctic White 2021 Corvette convt with Natural interior. We had a great time meeting and I was glad for the trip home for them as they stopped along the way in the Lancaster, PA area. Equipment: 2LT pkg, cf painted top and Nacelles, GT2 buckets, front lift, magnetic ride, bright red calipers, performance exhaust, cf wheels and much more. Two super nice folks!!

~Bart and Jane R. of Chevy Chase, Maryland have ordered several Corvettes from me over the years. Last week they traded in their BMW Z4 convt and 2017 Red Corvette Convt for a new Shadow Gray 2021 Corvette Convt. With Black interior. Jane always dresses to match the new Corvette at delivery. I told her daughter she was channeling Bette Davis. Equipment list: 2LT pkg, CF painted Nacelles/top, front lift, magnetic ride, spectra gray wheels, and much more!

~Sandy K. of Warren, New Jersey bought his 2019 GS from me and last week he traded it in for his new Shadow Gray 2021 Corvette Z51 Convt. Sandy drove down last eve and was here bright and early. I had him headed North back to his New Jersey home within 45 minutes. Super nice guy so give him the Corvette wave. Equipment list: GT 2 buckets, CF painted Nacelles/top, front lift, bright red calipers, sterling silver trident wheels, red seat belts, red interior, and Z51 pkg.

~George and Lisa S of Bradenton, Florida factory ordered their new Red Mist 2021 Corvette Z51 Convt. And took delivery this past week at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. The red carpet was rolled out and they are on their way back to their Florida home. Equipment list: GT2 buckets, CF full-length stripes, CF Nacelles and body-color roof, front lift, edge red calipers, cf wheels, 2 tone seats Natural/jet black, Z51 pkg, and Jake logo center caps.

~David F. of Collierville, Tennessee and his Father took delivery last week of two new 2021 Corvettes at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. That’s what I call a family gathering!! David Jr picked up the 2021 Rapid Blue 2LT coupe and David Sr drove away in the Torch Red 2021 convertible. Doesn’t get much better than that!!

~Michael and Teresa W. of Wellington, Florida placed their factory order to take delivery at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green which was accomplished this week. Michael ordered a Red Mist metallic 2021 Corvette coupe with sky cool gray interior. Equipment list on this beauty: bright red calipers, 2LT pkg, cf painted wheels, cf painted mirrors and much more! Stunning Corvette and I’m sure it will be a great ride home to Florida.

~Good story from Bob “Mr. 5,000” as he stopped by my office after picking up his C7 from Criswell Service today. Bob said a couple of weeks ago he was visiting his cousin in Delaware and they decided to drive to Bethany Beach one night just to take a quick peek at the Atlantic Ocean from the boardwalk. So he parked in the handicap spot without his handicap placard for literally one minute. He proceeds to back out of the spot and the ever-present Bethany Beach Police Patrol pulls up and approaches Bob. Bob goes, oh crap here comes a ticket/fine. The cop asks a few questions and finds out Bob bought the Corvette from me at Criswell which is 160 miles West of Bethany Beach. The Police officer tells Bob that “he read that Mike Furman is about to deliver Corvette #5,000!” Bob goes, “he did and this is Corvette #5,000!!” The police officer tells Bob that he bought his Corvette from Mike Furman a few years ago and to “have a nice day” and leaves without issuing a ticket. The gift of “Furman 5,000” keeps on giving.
