[VIDEO] My First Real Life Sighting of Red Mist 2021 Corvette Stingray


On Saturday I ventured out to my first in-person car event of the year by making a two-hour drive south to Punta Gorda, Florida, and the Muscle Car City Museum. Mecum Auctions was on site this weekend as they sold off the private collection of Rick Treworgy. We’ll have a full auction recap shortly.

What we wanted to share tonight was this walk-around of the 2021 Corvette Stingray in the new Red Mist exterior. It’s my first time seeing the new color in person and I was blown away by how good it looks. Under the bright Florida sunshine, the metallic flake absolutely sizzles and it really shows off the lines of the car as the color’s “travel” is very evident when you see it at various angles.

  4. I was there on Jan 13th. So many beautiful cars! Brought one home, in fact. 1953 Corvette….. 1:18 scale.

  5. Had my heart set on a 2020 Long Beach Red but did not pull the trigger soon enough. I have seen the Red Mist in person and it has a little bit more brown tint than the Long Beach to me.

  6. I hope the owner doesn’t always park like that… A good way to get the front of the car damaged.

  7. I have a 2020 Z51 LT3 HTC in Long Beach red and I really think it is better than the red mist metallic. My C-7 convertible was in red mist and I thought it was a great color for the smooth lines of that model. With the C-8, I’m not so sure the red mist metallic works as well with sharper edges of the C-8. I’m an engineer, not a designer, FYI. lol

  9. It looks like the interior is adrenaline red. In your opinion, doesn’t that clash? By the pictures I’ve seen, the torch red exterior appears to go much better with the adrenaline red interior. Agree?

  10. Maybe its the way the video shows on my monitor but the metal flake looks like orange peel.

  12. Almost my identical car (ordered and built with hopefully a late Feb delivery) except mine is convertible with black interior. Mirrors, trim all the same color except my caliper’s are black.

    I get my new one and it looks like that , it will be for sale in 30 seconds.

  14. I am always amazed how many Corvettes I see with a Handicap parking permit hanging from the inside rear view mirror. Just saying.

    Plus w/all the warnings, bells & whistles on most new cars & especially my ‘Vette, “Y” not one for the t-top. I know I’m not the only one to blew one off like @ 75mph!! Not a good feeling. Of course, it was on my “DOG” 2019, 1lt. Even on my new 2020 the dealer forget to re-hook @ delivery on 12/12/20. This one I caught b4 losing it. llf.

  17. Back to this great Mist Red…how much will it cost to repaint my Torch Red on the 2020??? Please reply PLUS how ’bout some input on blowing a “forget to latch” t-top?? thanks, llf

  18. answer to repaint: dealer said 8 to 10grand. maybe instead of buying a new one. my z51, 2020 just had oil & filter change @ 1900. don’t like all those shaving, etc in crankcase. still learing all the dials, switches, etc. by the way, I like 5min oil change, always bring my Mobil 1. they can’ – don’t know how to change & GM won’t give ’em the computer codes!!
