Chevrolet Design Executives to Talk C8 Corvette at the Concours d'Elegance of America

Corvette enthusiasts who are planning on attending the Concours d’Elegance of America this year will get to hear a special presentation from Chevrolet’s design leadership on the C8 mid-engine Corvette.

GM Design Chief Michael Simcoe will be hosting the Historic GM Design Seminar from 10-11 am EDT on July 27. As the next-generation Corvette features a mid-engine configuration, designers will talk about the unique challenges presented in designing a mid-engine vehicle worthy of the Corvette name.

Former head of Chevrolet Design Tom Peters will be talking about his career at the automaker as well as what it was like to work on the iconic Corvette. He will also be answering questions following his chat.

“Concours d’Elegance of America has a long, respected history celebrating the beauty of automotive design, and that’s a history we intend to honor properly,” said Simcoe. “Attendees will be treated to unique perspectives and stories from a number of our lead designers.”

The official press release doesn’t mention if the C8 Corvette will be on display during the Concours, but we think chances are high considering this event is taking place in GM’s backyard.

The Concours d’Elegance of America takes place July 26-28th at The Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, MI. Learn more at: https://concoursusa.org/.
