[VIDEO] Listen to the Sweet-Sounding Exhaust Notes from the C8 Mid-Engine Corvettes

I came across an Instagram account from one of the guys that I believe was on the Kia Soul Ride & Drive when they stopped to see the C8 Mid-Engine Corvette prototypes in California. He shared this video of SIX C8 Corvettes plus the two C7s, the Porsche 911, and several support vehicles pulling out onto the highway.

From the video you can listen to each of the C8s taking off down the road. I recommend turning this up, especially as the 5th C8’s exhaust note has the kind of rumble Corvette drivers expect:

Previous sightings have shown Corvette product manager Harlan Charles and Ride and Handling Engineer Alex MacDonald as being on this trip. Now we can add a third name to the list of Corvette VIPs on the scene.

The same Instagram account has one other photo from the encounter and it looks like Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter is standing by the open door of the C7 Corvette.

  1. Fifth C8. Small displacement, twin turbo, flat plane V8 my a$$! That sounded awesome, and is exactly what alot of us were wanting to hear. Good job Chevy!

Now, that is not to say that other variants may have the smaller turbo engine.

I was watching an old YouTube video the other day, and it featured alot of footage of the 1957 prototype Corvette being developed and racing at Sebring. St. Arkus-Duntov and his crew called it the Super Sport. Despite all the books I have read, I have yet to wonder why Chevrolet never went the SS route for production Corvettes. Anyone out there have any ideas?

Anyways, great video of the C8’s!!
