[PIC] FVS Renders C8 Mid-Engine Corvette with the 2019 Corvette ZR1

Didn’t I say that FVS (FirstVetteSoon) @ the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com is a render factory! The amazing artist behind many of the C8 Corvette renders has a new creation we wanted to share.

This new image ties in the legacy of the C7 generation that culminated in the production of the 755-horsepower 2019 Corvette ZR1. Here, the C8 Corvette is strategically positioned in front of an official Chevrolet image of the ZR1 with both appearing in Sebring Orange exteriors. Despite the differences in engine layout, the two cars definitely appear to share some DNA.

I also think FVS located the lowering bolts on the ME as there literally no gap in those wheel wells!

With one of the rumors being that C7 and C8s will be sold alongside each other, perhaps this render offers a look into the future of Chevrolet dealer showrooms where the two cars will share the sales floor together. Or as an alternate theory, with the arrival of the C8 Corvette, the C7 generation slowly fades into the background (where it does a burn out because as Neil Young says, it’s better to burn out than fade away!).

  1. Well, I for one, hope that GM/Chev produces both FE & ME. There are a few manufacturers that successfully do both, no name please.
My wife and I are participants in the NCM MIM 1 Lap of Kentucky next month. For us, it comprises a total of 8 days and 7 nights of travel. No where has there been a mention of available trunk space for the new ME, the presumption being it will be less than a FE, then again maybe not. We are all concentrating on the engines and trannies and looks of the new ME, but not the practicality for those of us who like to travel in our Corvettes.
I’m sure someone is going to write ‘Corvettes are not for practicality.’
There are many of us that are life long Corvette enthusiast, that drive and travel extensively with our Corvettes. I trust Tadge and Harlan keep us in mind moving forward.
Maybe Tadge, et al, can engineer a ME RPO-ZN1 trailer hitch option, as was available 1977 thru 1981.
For an example, google ‘mike waal corvette images’

  2. I think you have a valid concern Mike Waal. My wife and I travel a lot and we usually rent a Corvette to drive. We just got back from Vegas and we rented a Hertz edition Z06. I own a 2016 Z06 and have been patiently waiting for the mid engine to come out. It will be a problem if we can’t fit suitcases. I will still be buying one I just won’t be able to rent one on vacations anymore..

  3. I to hope the front engine Corvette will still be avaiable. Every year for the last 7 or 8 years my wife and I have traveled from Calif. to Iowa for a family reunion and then onto Montreal and other places before heading home in a C5 , C6 and this year and last year a C7. I would guess from what I see in other mid engine cars you can forget about much luggage space. One year we even had a tent and two sleeping bags. I like the idea of the mid-engine car but I think it would be a mistake to drop the front engine.

  4. Yes, I love the ME model of the future but please keep the FE also. They have been & still are a visually appealing car. One of the few that can be mentioned in the conversation with most ME super cars. That was one of the reasons I love them. As a ME car the blue collar kid might think of it as impossible to buy & blend in with the Lambos & Ferrari’s. As a FE car it stayed in the eye & mind of all the kids dreams. Even those whom aren’t blessed with the money for a Lambo, they could still get that feeling of super car in a Corvette. Idk just my thoughts
