The First 2019 Corvette ZR1s Have Been Released For Shipping to Dealers

Production of the 2019 Corvette ZR1s started on Monday, March 5th and once completed, they were put on a quality-control hold at the assembly plant to ensure that they meet the exacting standards that one would expect out of a $119K sports car.

The good news is that the quality-control hold for those first Corvettes has been lifted! On Thursday, March 15th, the first transports rolled out of Bowling Green with the new 755-hp ZR1s on board.

Keep in mind, this does not mean that every ZR1 that has been built so far has been released for transport because every newly-built Corvette is placed under a two-week quality hold before being shipped.

The two-week hold for quality control allows the plant to view any issues that may show up on a car or two and see if they are isolated to that those cars or if they are indeed more widespread.

We expect to see these first ZR1s show up at dealers this week, so this exciting news for those early ZR1 buyers and the dealers who got their orders in first.

  1. My 2019 Grand Sport was released for shipping on Feb 27th and it hasn’t showed up yet. Good luck with seeing the ZR1’s this week… 😉 I’ve heard the railroads are behind on shipping.
