While much of the Corvette racing world was focused on the factory efforts at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last weekend, another historic track here in the United States was also in session. The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) was in Indianapolis for the 2015 Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational and so were the vintage Corvette racers.
Our friend Glenn Brown was there to help crew for Jim Glass and his 1965 Corvette and he captured many of the classic Corvettes doing their thing on the track.
This is the second year for the Brickyard Invitational which featured more than 500 vintage and historic race cars competiting on the road course and the 2.5 mile oval of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Glenn tells us the first car is Jim’s 1965 Corvette that was co-driven by Pete Halmser in the Pro/Am race. Bill Bogner’s 66 is the dark blue one in the second picture. The white 63 with the blue stripe (#44) belongs to Corvette Forum member “C2racer”, and the black 63 with the red and white stripe (#63) is Forum member “63Corvette”.
