Registration for Bloomington Gold Opens February 15th

It’s hard to believe, but we’re only about 120 days from the 2014 installment of the Bloomington Gold Corvette show. If you’re looking to have your car judged or just attend as a spectator now’s the time to get your place in line. Registration for this year’s show opens up this Saturday, February 15th. The June 27-29th event will be making its 2nd stop this year on the University of Illinois campus in Champaign.

The show layout has been tweaked for 2014. What was mainly parking last year is now show space this year. Based on Bloomington’s rendering, there still looks to be plenty of grass and shade to go around once again.

Of course the marquee events of the 42nd annual show include the Gold, Survivor, and Benchmark judging taking place on Saturday and Sunday. 2014 will be the first year for the new Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories within the Survivor judging. Judging candidates should get their registration forms in pronto as classes often fill up quickly. In addition there’s the one-day Mecum all-Corvette Auction on Saturday. On Friday, attendees can increase their Corvette knowledge in one of several GoldSchool seminars. Various vendors and aftermarket suppliers will be selling their wares throughout the weekend while Corvettes of all years will be taunting potential new owners over in the GoldMine. The GoldTour will stage at 5pm on Saturday before heading off into the countryside. If you need yet more time behind the wheel be sure to head over to the GoldAutocross on Saturday or Sunday and test your skills on the sinuous race course. Bloomington Gold 2014 will take place June 27-29, 2014 on the University of Illinois campus in Champaign. Admission is $20 per day at the door and $15 per day in advance. 3-day passes can be had for $40 in advance or $45 at the gate.
