Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash isn’t the only hard rocking musician to have a classic Corvette for sale. A 1978 Indy 500 Corvette Pace Car that was purchased new and owned by the former lead guitarist of KISS, Ace Frehley is currently listed on eBay. The Corvette is being sold by Ace’s brother-in-law, who was presented the car in 1980 as a high school graduation gift.
The seller states that Ace purchased the Corvette new in 1978 as it’s black and silver livery matched his “Spaceman” stage persona. Ace owned the Corvette for two years before giving it to the seller.
The Corvette appears to be in good condition. The VIN 1Z87L8S902083 verifies that this is an actual Pace Car replica that is powered by the L48 195 hp V8. The 55,000 miles on the odometer is low for a Corvette that is 33 years old. Documentation includes a notarized proof of ownership signed by Paul “Ace” Frehley.
Ace also took the time to place his signature autograph on both the exterior driver’s door of the Pace Car as well as inside the glove box door.
One of Ace Frehley’s personalized autographed Epiphone guitars is shown in the auction picture galley, but no mention of it is in the description so we are unsure whether or not its included.
