Longtime Corvette Museum supporter Harvey Gluck just picked up his 63rd Corvette and this one is a stunner. It’s a 2013 Corvette ZR1 in Night Race Blue with a 60th Anniversary stripe running down the body. Harvey was presented with the ZR1 at the National Corvette Museum by Corvette Marketing Manager John Fitzpatrick.
German tuners GeigerCars has made a reputation building some outrageous special editions from American cars, including Corvettes, Camaros and Chargers.
But quality work doesn’t come with a cheap price tag.
This special Corvette ZR1 pumps out 730-hp, but GeigerCars says it is completely streetworthy.
Really high performance sports cars like the Corvette ZR1 and Z06 always seem to come only with six-speed transmissions.
But not anymore.
On a forum post on Camaro5.com earlier this week, Howard Tanner, owner of Redline Motorsports, which bills itself as South Florida’s premier EFI performance shop, announced that his crew has been working hard to develop the world’s first ZR1 Corvette with an automatic transmission.

Car and Driver Technical Editor Michael Austin recently put Chevrolet’s best Corvettes – the ZR1 and the Z06 – against one another, giving us what he loves about the Corvette but at the same time telling us what it needs to do to remain relevant as it enters its seventh generation.
He recently pushed the two flagship Corvettes to their limits at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in Desert Center, California and came away impressed but at the same disappointed.
It’s a tribute to the engineers at Chevrolet that the Corvette ZR1 is even considered a peer with the much, much more expensive Ferrari 458 Italia and the McLaren MP4-12C.
Road & Track recently decided to pit three of the best that the United States, Italy, and Britain have to offer at Spring Mountain’s Radical Loop, with IMSA GT legend Steve Millen driving for the timed laps. Millen, of course, has the most all-time wins in that series with 20 as well as the most pole positions with 23.
As a scorching Corvette ZR1 roars around a turn in the background, automobile expert Matt Farah of the Attack of the Show asks viewers on the Web if they’d like to drive that.
“I can’t but I’d sure as hell like to,” Farah says. “Today that’s what we’re gonna do.”
We’ve closed the hood on yet another Corvettes at Carlisle show weekend. The 31st annual event was held last weekend at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, PA. After a shortened event last year due to Hurricane Irene, we were glad to see this show back firing on all cylinders. Great weather nearly all weekend provided the perfect backdrop on one of the best Carlisle shows yet.
Sometimes it’s tough being young.
For example, just ask the players on the prestigious Manchester United soccer squad in Great Britain who are younger than 23. They won’t be able to take full advantage of a very generous offer by the team’s newest sponsor, Chevrolet, to give them the Chevy of their choice, even a shiny new Corvette.
Members of General Motor’s Corvette Team once again came to Carlisle, PA for the annual Corvettes at Carlisle Show and gave their annual “What’s New with Corvette” seminar.
Corvette’s Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter started off with the walk-around before turning it over to Dave Tatman, the Corvette Assembly Plant Manager. Also talking 2013 Corvettes were Harlan Charles, Corvette’s Product Marketing Manager and Kirk Bennion, Corvette’s Exterior Design Engineer. The Seminar took just a little more than 20 minutes to cover the latest and final Corvette models of the C6 era but it was well worth it and very informative to all those that were there.
