FOUND! The final Corvette has been Located Inside the Corvette Museum's Sinkhole

Good news from the National Corvette Museum this week. They announced on Monday with a photo posted on their facebook page that construction workers had finally located the 2001 Mallett Hammer Z06 in the sky dome sinkhole. The Z06 was one of two member-donated Corvettes to have fallen into the sinkhole and as the surveillance tape shows, it was the first Corvette to fall when the floor split open in the early morning hours of February 12th.

Corvette Nation’s Michael Brown (Director of The Quest) visits Mecum’s Dallas 2013 Auction and takes us inside a very unique car collection owned by the late Mr. Buddy Herin. This Corpus Christi, Texas resident was the seller of the 1967 L88 Corvette which set a world record price at $3.2 Million for a Corvette sold at a public auction. Also included in the collection is a 1957 “Air Box” Corvette, a 1962 big brake fuelie Corvette and a 1963 Red/Red Corvette Z06.

A Closer Look at the 8-Speed Automatic for the 2015 Corvette Z06

One of the most talked about features on the 2015 Corvette Z06 is the new high performance 8-speed automatic transmission.

It was back in May of 2011 that we first learned that GM was developing an eight-speed automatic transmission for its high performance cars. But one of the things we didn’t know was that the Hydra-Matic 8L90 would be designed from the ground up specifically to handle the more than 635 lb-ft of torque generated by the 2015 Corvette Z06.

Cadillac Europe to Sell Chevy Camaro and Corvette Models

In a stunning move last December, General Motors announced that it would be phasing Chevrolet out of the European market by the end of 2015 due to a challenging business model and instead it will focus its efforts on the automaker’s existing European brands, Opel and Vauxhall. GM did say that it would continue to sell “select iconic” Chevrolet-badged models in Europe but details were unspecific at the time.

[VIDEO] Corvette Production Team Seminar at the 2014 12 Hours of Sebring

Corvette’s Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter and Product Manager Harlan Charles were in Sebring last weekend for the 12 hour race and on Friday morning they spoke to the Corvette owners and enthusiasts in the Corvette corral.

But before we heard from the Corvette Team, former Corvette Racing driver and VP at Bondurant Driving School Johnny O’Connell led the crowd in singing Happy Birthday to Tadge who celebrated his birthday on Friday.
