The National Corvette Museum’s Executive Director Wendell Strode has had an interesting couple of days following the collapse of the floor inside the of the Museum’s skydome which swallowed up 8 collectible Corvettes. Here he is talking with CNN’s Erin Burnett about the sinkhole and he talks about how they will be removing the Corvettes from the hole.

Tatman: We are Extraordinarily Close to Shipping New Corvette Stingrays

As you can imagine, life is pretty hectic at the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green right now.

Plant manager Dave Tatman took time out to talk to a crowd of 300 people Tuesday at the Barren River Area Development District’s annual luncheon at the National Corvette Museum just across from the assembly plant.

The National Corvette Museum does a lot of good deeds for many groups.

Wednesday, the museum’s executive director, Wendell Strode, received a rare honor on behalf of the opportunities he and the museum provide for volunteers and nonprofits.

Kevin Mays, a member of the board of the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service, surprised Strode with a Governor’s Citation for Community Volunteerism and Service.

Corvette Museum Surpasses Fundraising Goal to Build the Motorsports Park

The sound of horsepower will soon fill the air across the highway from the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY.

That’s because the NCM’s fundraising goal to raise an additional $1 million for the Motorsports Park by June 1st has come true. In fact, the Museum surpassed that amount by $95,471! With that goal met, it means that initial construction will include the west track.

It’s the middle of May and that means its time for the annual Corvette Beach Caravan and Car Show. For the last 33 years, Dorthan, Alabama’s Circle City Corvette club caravans down to Panama City Beach, Florida for a weekend of Corvette fun and camaraderie. Special guests for this year’s show will include the 2014 Corvette Stingray, Corvette exterior designer Kirk Bennion and NCM director Wendell Strode.

Rick Hendrick recently made a $100,000 donation to the park through his Hendrick Automotive Group.

The Circle City Corvette Club out of Dothan, AL is doing their Run to the Beach this Friday with a Corvette show at the Panama City Beach Bay Point Marriott Beach Resort on Saturday, May 21st. The corvette show includes a live look at the 2012 Corvettes, seminars with GM engineers and designers from Bowling Green and an event shirt.
