If you’re looking for a performance boost for your Corvette Z06 that’s out of the ordinary, then Fastlane out of Houston, Texas may have the answer for you.
Fastlane vows to be not only Houston’s biggest and baddest tuner shop, but they have also been building muscle cars and trucks for nearly 15 years, according to their website.
The shop’s latest effort is a C6 Z06 Rear Mount Turbo Kit that features a 76mm Turbo on a stock Z06 motor.
In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Callaway Cars has announced that the famous RPO B2K option package will return to a limited number 2012 Corvettes. The popular option package first appeared in 1987 and, when selected, force-fed the stock Corvette L98 through a pair of intercooled turbos. Since that time, the Callaway Twin-Turbo Corvettes have grown in popularity amongst enthusiasts and collectors.

According to a story by TheDetroitBureau.com, one of the engines that General Motors is planning on offering in the C7 Corvette is a European-style turbo V8 that will be slightly larger than 3 liters in displacement. This would mark a turning point for the company which has traditionally offered high-displacement V8s in the sports car. The turbocharged engine is expected to woo the hearts, minds and wallets of European performance car buyers who are usually drawn to the likes of Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini.
When you see the enormity of this crash on video, its amazing that the driver not only lived, but walked away. With 1,400 awe-inspiring horsepower on tap, the Hinson Motorsports twin turbo Corvette Z06 was on its way to breaking speed records at the Texas Mile this weekend when the car left the runway at 230 mph, flipping once and coming to rest on its wheels in the grass.
Normally our “Corvettes on the dyno” posts are reserved for new models like when the Corvette ZR1 first became available. But this video of a twin-turbo 2005 Corvette on the dyno is just too good to pass up. Dallas Performance is the tuner who built this 1250 hp coupe and in addition to their horsepower-increasing skills, they are pretty darn good with a camera and editing program too.
