When we talk about German-based Corvette tuners, the name Geiger would usually come to mind. However, there are others in the land of Bavaria who also take pride in tuning America’s favorite sports car. One such firm is named TIKT and their awesome 758-horsepower Corvette ZR1 is called the Triple X.

A new supercar with a Z06 LS7 motor and suspension components borrowed from a Corvette could be on the market later this year. Falcon, the Michigan company that builds bodykits and other mods for the Dodge Viper, announced a couple of years ago at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show that it would be building a supercar in limited numbers (just 15 cars a year).
It was back in May that we brought you the news of Late Model Racecraft’s 1500 hp twin turbo Corvette ZR1 that ran 231 mph at the Texas Mile to claim the title as World’s Fastest Corvette in the Standing Mile. Not content to rest on their laurels, the Houston-based tuner has turned some wrenches on another Corvette ZR1 which they claim is now the fastest Corvette ZR1 in the world!
If you follow us on Facebook, you saw us give you a sneak peak at this car last Saturday. Purchased from “Mr. Motion” Joel Rosen about 10 years ago, it recently completed a very lengthy, very thorough, and (we imagine) a very expensive restoration. It was unveiled for the very first time last weekend at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Chicago by the current owner Dan McMichael, Joel Rosen, and Martyn Schorr. You can check out some more photos its debut after the break.
Tintek is a company out of the Czech Republic that has developed a real skill in the vinyl wrapping of sports cars. And while the latest trend in vinyl wrapping seems to be matte colors, Tintek goes the complete opposite with their fleet of sports cars wrapped in chrome. After dressing up a Chevy Camaro SS and an Audi TT, the company released photos of their latest creation, a chromed C6 Corvette Coupe with verticle doors.
It seems our new favorite tuners in Houston have a thing for LS9 crate motors. We featured Fastlane last week as wicked photos of a Chevy Silverado with an LS9 surfaced on their facebook page. Now we’ve got some photos of another LS9 install, this one more appropriate as the supercharged 6.2 liter V8 finds a new home in a classic 1971 Corvette.
If you’ve ever met a custom tuner, you’ll find they are some of the most optimistic people on this earth. Case in point? Houston tuner Fastlane managed to stuff a 638-hp supercharged LS9 Corvette ZR1 engine into a Silverado pickup truck. We’re not sure why it was decided that a Silverado get this kind of power upgrade, but now that it’s in there, we think the end result is pretty awesome.
Time and time again we see custom supercars built around the C6 Corvette. The Rossi 66 and Bertone’s Mantide are two that have successfully made the jump from vaporware to production. And last week we learned German-based Endora cars is planning on using the C6 Corvette as the basis for their supercar, the Endora SC-1.
Texas tuner Hennessey Performance Engineering is known for their performance packages that substantially increase the power of GM and other American-built cars and trucks. Right after the initial introduction of the Corvette ZR1, HPE came out with their ZR700 package which boosted the ZR1′s horsepower to 705. Hennessey also offers the ZR750 package which brings the power on tap to 755-ponies, a ground-pounding 728 pounds-feet of torque and a top speed in excess of 224 mph! If those kind of numbers appeal to your inner racer, we encourage you to read on.
Canada. The great white north. The country that brought us back bacon, Molson beer and Ron Fellows is also home to Elite Tuners of Canada (ETC) and their Gold Rush colored C6 Corvette. The tuning company made their first appearance at the 2011 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto last week with a display of two cars in front of the Chevrolet area. Dubbed the “Top Tuner 5″ project, the Corvette and its Chevy Cruze counterpart “Top Tuner 5.5″ turned a lot of heads with the race-inspired tuning projects.
