[PICS] Restored Barn Find 1965 Big Tank Corvette Wins Triple Diamond Award at MCACN

One of our favorite Corvettes from last month’s Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals was a fabulous 1965 365 hp black on black 1965 big tank coupe. You may not recognize it now, but it’s the same black on black big tank car we first brought you last summer from Bloomington Gold.

Back then the car was shown in all of its unrestored glory. Years of rust, dirt, and grime covered every inch of the car. It wore big fat fender flares on all four corners and an interesting home center mount exhaust exited the car out back.

Unique 1965 Big Tank Corvette Coupe Fuelie Offered by ProTeam

Generally speaking, Corvettes can be divided into two camps: those with all of the luxuries for comfortable cruising and those with all of the performance goodies for owners who like completion. Rarely a Corvette comes along that blurs the boundary and offers a unique combination of speed and comfort. Such a car is the 1965 Corvette Coupe now offered by ProTeam Corvettes.

Ultra Rare 1965 Big Tank Corvette Coupe Heading to Amelia Island Auction

One of just 41 Big Tank Corvette Coupes produced in 1965 will be on the block at the Hollywood Wheels Amelia Island Select auction in Florida March 12-15.

This silver over black coupe comes with a rich though dated pedigree, too, including Bloomington Gold Special Collection in 1989 and 1995, Bloomington Certified in 1987, National NCRS Top Flight award in 1993,and Chevy Vettefest Triple Crown award in 2004.

Unique 1965 Corvette Big Tank Coupe to Cross the Block at Mecum's Kissimmee Auction

Mid-year Corvette coupes with the 36.5 gallon gas tank option are pretty rare, there having been a total of only 210 built in the 1963 – 1967 model years. But the 1965 Big Tank coupe offered at Mecum’s Kissimmee Auction at the Osceola Heritage Park in (where else?) Kissimmee, Fla. January 16-24 is unique because of its comfort and convenience options not usually found on Big Tank Vettes.

[PICS] Dick Lang's 1963 Corvette Z06 Racer

Back in the first part of 2011, ProTeam Corvette Sales posted an article on their website seeking more information on Dick Lang’s 1963 Corvette Z06 racer which they had recently discovered. After several months and a $224,000 Nabers Brothers restoration, they unveiled the recently completed car last weekend during a NCRS-sponsored Corvette Seminar at their Napoleon, Ohio facility. This was the first time it had been seen by the public since being returned to its Daytona racing livery.
