If being the owner of one of just 500 Premiere Edition Coupes isn’t special enough for you, you have a chance to bump up your exclusivity a notch with this “one-of-a-kind” P.E. being offered now on eBay.
Our friends at Callaway continue to amaze us with the number of projects they have going. After announcing their C7 Aerowagon Shooting Brake and the 570 hp Callaway SS Sedan were greenlighted for 2014, the project we really wanted to know about – the C7 Callaway Corvette – can now be ordered from Callaway dealers.
It’s not everyday you get your latest and greatest total vehicle upgrade package installed, and it just so happened that on our day it decided to snow about 6″. Now, let’s say you have a 650 HP supercharged 2014 Corvette from Pfadt Race Engineering in your garage…would you wait to take it for a spin? Us neither…
Last week we shared details of Callaway’s engineers successfully supercharging the first direct injected engine in the Gen 5 family from General Motors. The work that was done included the install of an Eaton TVS Supercharger onto a 2014 5.3L Silverado truck. In addition to the hardware, Callaway’s engineers worked on the calibration with the electronic powertrain management system which includes Direct Injection, Variable Valve Timing and Active Fuel Management.
This work has given Callaway a jump on the competition as it prepares to offer a Callaway-engineered 2014 Corvette Stingray. But not all work is being done under the hood. Callaway has always offered their own hood treatment for the Callaway-tuned Corvettes as the supercharger requires additional headroom. In advance of Corvettes at Carlisle, Callaway is showing a sneak preview of how that new hood will look.
Chevy hasn’t been forthcoming about what, if any, tricks are up its sleeve to increase the horsepower in future renditions of the C7.
We’ve been left to hope that the much beloved Z06 and ZR1 will live on in the new generation of the Corvette.
Now comes a little more hope for at least a ZR1, thanks to a photo taken by Car and Driver as the Stingray convertible prepared to make its debut in Geneva this week. The magazine reports that a close examination of photos after returning to the office reveals a PSI gauge in the instrument cluster of the subject convertible that is similar to the one in the current supercharged C6 ZR1.
Fresh off the successful launch of their 25th Anniversary B2K Corvettes, one of which we showed you from last month’s Bloomington Gold Show, Callaway Cars is back to show off their version of the all new 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible. If Chevy is calling the production 427 Convertible the fastest, most capable convertible in Corvette’s history – just imagine the fun you would have with the supercharged 652 horsepower Callaway 427 Convertible.
