Street Race

Needed to get in a baseline pull for a buddy before a few “adjustments” to his Z06, so went out and leveled up for a quick 30 roll. Was a GOOD close run, the way racing is supposed to go down on camera.

OK, this is pretty awesome. Corvette Stingray vs C6 Z06. Stingray is faster on launch but then that Z06′s torque curve kicks in.

The C6 Z06 has bolt-ons and the C7 has heads/cam and runs 10′s. Who do you think will win this?

How does a bone stock 460hp Corvette Stingray stack up against a 662hp Mustang GT500 in a street race? Pretty good!!

2014 LT1 Corvette Stingray races a 5.8L GT500 with 662hp. Both cars are 100% bone stock.

Two of the closest street races I’ve seen between two evenly matched Corvettes, one stock Corvette ZR1 and one bolt on and cammed CorvetteZ06, doesn’t get a whole lot closer than this!

[VIDEO] Corvettes Crash During Street Race; Warrants Issued

Apparently this video went viral while I was incommunicado over the Thanksgiving holiday. Two Silver Corvettes, a C6 and C5, were lined up at a stop light in the Houston neighborhood of The Woodlands. The motorist behind the duo gets a bad feeling about what is going to happen when the lights go green and starts filming. Sure enough, the race ends badly for both drivers and cars and now police have issued warrants for their arrest.

Why You Don’t Race Your Corvette on the Streets

by Keith Cornett on February 21, 2011

This is Why You Don't Race Your Corvette on the Streets

The driver of this 1998 Corvette was allegedly racing another vehicle (article says Corvette, we heard Mustang) in Long Beach. Apparently a street light turned red and the other car stopped, but the Corvette blew the light at 100 mph, hitting a Toyota Cressida which sheered it in half. Miraculously, no one was seriously injured in the crash. No charges were filed at the scene against the Corvette driver, but police are still investigating.
