Final 2015 Corvette Production Statistics

The second year of C7 Corvette production ended almost two weeks ago and thanks to our friends at the National Corvette Museum, we already have a breakdown of the final 2015 Corvette production statistics.

For the 2015 model year, Chevrolet build 34,240 Corvettes. Production decreased 8% from the 37,288 Corvette Stingrays built during the C7’s inaugural year, but we’ve been told that the production cycle for the 2014 model year was slightly longer than 2015.

Leading the production was the 2015 Corvette Stingray Coupe. GM built 20,757 Stingray Coupes which accounted for 60.6% of Corvette production. The Z06 Coupe was second with 6,980 built for a 20.4% share. The Corvette Stingray Convertible’s production was 4,830 for 14.1% and finally the Corvette Z06 Convertible total was 1,673 for 4.9%.

Raffle of 2015 C7 Corvette Stingray to Benefit Patty Pollatos Fund

Buying a chance to win a brand new 2015 C7 Corvette Stingray coupe and at the same time helping some folks who have hit a few bumps in their lives seems like a worthwhile investment to us, even if you don’t win. All of the proceeds from the raffle of the Stingray, from Criswell Chevrolet, home of Corvette mega-salesman Mike Furman, will go to the Patty Pollatos Fund, an all-volunteer, non-profit charity in Frederick County, Maryland.

Preliminary 2016 Corvette Pricing Released - Z06 C7.R Edition's MSRP is $111,400

We found out this morning from National Corvette seller Mike Furman that some preliminary pricing has been announced for the 2016 Corvette Stingray and Z06. Full 2016 Corvette pricing is still expected later this month, but according to Mike, all Corvettes models will be receiving a $400 increase for the new year. We were actually expecting to see at least a $1,000 bump in price so only $400 is something we can live with.

For those of you that remember FOX’s teenage drama Beverly Hills 90210 from the 1990’s, actor Ian Ziering played high school student Steve Sanders, the son of a famous actress. On the show, Steve drove a C4 Corvette Convertible with the awesome vanity license plate that read “I8A 4RE”.

I had the opportunity to meet Ian at a FOX-TV rollout party back in the 90’s. We got to talking and it turned out that he was a Corvette enthusiast in real life as well. If I recall correctly, it was his idea to use a Corvette as Steve Sander’s car on Beverly Hills 90210.

Today, Ian is back in the news after posting a photo of himself behind the wheel of the new Corvette Stingray.

[VIDEO] Weather Channel's Jim Cantore Takes a Corvette Hot Lap on Michelin's Test Track

Let’s take an inside look at one reason (or four reasons, actually) why the seventh-generation Corvette Stingray handles so well.

We all know that Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter and his talented crew worked wonders making the 2014 Corvette such an improvement over previous models.

Now watch this video to see our host, Meteorologist Jim Cantore from The Weather Channel, go on a Corvette hot lap in a Laguna Blue Stingray around the Michelin Laurens Proving Grounds in South Carolina, which consists of more than a dozen special tracks and surfaces for tire and suspension system testing, driving training, and event management, all situated on 3,300 acres.

[ACCIDENT] C7 Corvette Stingray Has Passenger Door Knocked Off in Canada
Photo by James Wood Meridian Booster

It’s never nice to see a C7 Corvette Stingray involved in an accident, but this time at least it wasn’t a speeding Corvette at fault.

The Torch Red Corvette with Adrenaline Red interior and black wheels suffered extensive damage to the passenger side after the wreck Sunday afternoon in Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada.
