Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is well known for his foodie show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and earlier this year we learned that he has a taste for cars as well – namely those wearing a bow-tie. Guy drove the 2012 Corvette ZR1 pace car at this year’s Indy 500 and that opportunity allowed him to get close to Corvette Team who worked with him to create his very own custom 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible.
So who’s your pick for America’s Ultimate Street Car?
One possible contender for the title at this year’s highly anticipated OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational coming up in less than a month is this awesome 1967 Corvette owned by Jeff Cleary, whose creation has been featured on the cover of prominent magazines for years.
Want to purchase the GTE-Pro class-winning Corvette C6R from last year’s 24 hours of Le Mans? Well too bad, you can’t have that one, but can take home this yellow 2006 Z06 that’s decked out as tribute to Team Corvette’s epic triumph in France last summer.
GM Design Director Kip Wasenko calls it “the Corvette Duntov would have built to win LeMans.”
Now some lucky – and very wealthy – person will have the opportunity to buy this hand-crafted custom 1963 Corvette unlike any other in the world, complete with a jaw-dropping modernistic design and a twin-turbo, mid-engine setup that boasts 0-60 times below 3 seconds.

When it comes to the Corvette, custom looks can range from subtly menacing to downright gaudy. Fortunately companies like SS Vette fall firmly in the former category. As a result, even in this topsy-turvy economy, the company remains strong with an ever-expanding catalog of Vette parts and a presence at this year’s SEMA show.
Corsa Performance is one of the leaders in providing Corvette owners with great sounding exhaust systems that provide performance gains without interior drone. But Corvette owners notoriously take pride in the look of their exhaust systems as well and so when we stopped by the Corsa booth at SEMA last week, they enthusiastically introduced us to their newest product – Corsa’s Black Diamond exhaust tips.
The Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows ‘Hall of Fame’ Tribute was one of two Corvette concepts that General Motors brought with them to SEMA this year. The Red and White Corvette was the featured display at the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch / Ron Fellows Driving School booth in the adjoining hall. We took many photos of the tribute car and we also have a video of Ron Fellows showing off his personalized special edition Corvette Z06 at Chevrolet’s introduction event held last Monday.
Corvettes were in plentiful supply at SEMA and we made an attempt to photograph each and every one we could find. That meant walking every aisle and outdoor space at the show. But we sacrificed for you our readers because you deserve no less. And so after the jump, we present the Corvettes of SEMA.
The benefit of having an auxiliary hardtop for your roadster is that you can drive your Corvette longer as the weather turns cooler, thereby extending your driving season for an extra couple of months each year. But putting that hardtop on your Corvette, or removing it when the weather turns nice can be a real struggle. You can call the wife out to the garage, go get a neighbor or attempt to do it yourself, but it only takes one careless move to damage the top or worse, the back of your Corvette. So when we saw the Glassworks Lift System at SEMA, we knew we had to spread the word on this innovative product.
You know we love Corvette Racing here on CorvetteBlogger and whenever we see a tribute to the yellow and black C6.Rs, we have to stop and take a closer look. This particular Corvette was found outside the main entrance to the SEMA show and was a constant source of admiration from attendees who were passing by.
