This Velocity Yellow Corvette Stingray must have been traveling at a high velocity to experience the kind of damage we are looking at from these pictures that were recently posted on reddit.
SAVE THE STINGRAYS
Maybe this driver should have stuck with the fancy technology that Chevrolet has built into the seventh-generation Corvette.
Instead, he turned the traction control off and over corrected as he was drifting around a corner heading into a straightaway.
The Stingray started doing a zig-zag dance, slid sideways into barriers, and wound up on its passenger side, no doubt inflicting thousands of dollars in damage.
We already knew that the C7 Corvette was hot. The car has taken home numerous industry awards and over 37,000 of them were built.
They’ve scorched the competition in various comparisons both on the track and off.
Over the last year or so we’ve seen countless wrecked C7′s. This one is easily the crispiest one we’ve seen yet. The entire car is well done like the finest filet mignon at your local steak house. It resembles the remains of Chernobyl after the 1980′s reactor fire and subsequent meltdown. In fact the only remaining components we can make out after the carbeque are the metallic components like the wheels, miscellaneous frame bits, and the mufflers.
Add another C7 to the growing list of Stingrays that have “drowned,” so to speak.
This black 2014 Corvette, sitting atop some Forgeline GA3R wheels, was once a great-looking car, but no longer.
It’s now sitting in an insurance company’s holding lot and will be sold through Insurance Auto Auctions.
Looking at the pile of twisted metal and body panels, it’s hard to believe that this was once a 2014 Corvette Stingray. After reviewing the photos from the Insurance Auto Auctions website, this has got to be the worst post-crash Corvette we’ve seen and believe us, we’ve seen a lot of them.
There’s little doubt that today’s Corvette is much stronger and safer than previous generations. Like most modern cars, the Corvette Stingray has predetermined crumple zones that absorb the energy of an impact while the cockpit’s front and side airbags deploy to help protect the driver. And after all that happens, OnStar is there to call emergency services as soon as a crash is detected.
Remember the character Harvey Dent in the 2008 movie The Dark Knight? He’s the guy who had half of his face was mangled after The Joker blew up the building in which Dent was being held captive. From one side his injuries were not noticeable, but the other side of his face told a different story. This damaged 2014 Corvette Stingray reminded us of The Dark Knight when we stumbled across it on eBay. The passenger side looks fine, but the driver’s side shows some battle scars.
Time for another SAVE THE STINGRAY’s post.
No, I don’t think this will buff out.

We’re debuting a new tag tonight called “SAVE THE STINGRAYS”. We think it’s only proper given the fact that learned tonight about another two or three C7 Corvettes that were taken out in a case of Bow-tie on Bow-tie violence in Texas.
According to Jalopnik, things got interesting at the Chevy Ride and Drive event on Wednesday afternoon at the Texas State Fair after an unidentified driver in the 2014 Impala hit two or three 2014 Corvette Stingrays, damaging at least two of the C7s as well as the Impala.
