Barrett-Jackson is the largest and most extravagant of the five major collector car auctions taking place during the week of January 13. Over 1,200 cars including 125 Corvettes will cross the famous auction block with SPEED providing nearly 40 hours of live gavel coverage. As the holidays draw to a cold and snowy close, being an avid Corvette lover, your thoughts wander to the Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic coupe safely tucked away under the custom car cover in your garage and wander briefly what color the new C7 will be when it is unveiled on January 13th in Detroit. Like many Corvette “car guys” you’ve thought about several details of what the new generation of cars would look like and how they would perform compared to your C6. More than once you cursed yourself for being too late to purchase one of the hundred and fifty $995 tickets the National Corvette Museum sold to be one of the privileged few at the formal introduction of Chevrolet’s halo car to the media.
Mecum Auctions continues to release details on some of the outstanding Corvettes they’ve got lined up for their Kissimmee auction later this month. In addition to a Survivor 1963 Z06 and the ‘entombed’ 1954 Corvette, this mega rare 1971 ZR2 will be crossing the block on Saturday January 27th around 4pm EST.
It looks like it will happen, Barrett-Jackson will auction off a C7 Corvette at their Scottsdale auction on Saturday, January 19th at 8:30 PM. It appears the good people at Barrett-Jackson are using the same diversionary tactics they used last year when they sold the 2013 Number 1 VIN 427 Convertible.
It’s not often that someone has the chance to buy a genuine piece of automotive history, with complete documentation since new to prove its heritage.
But that’s what bidders at the upcoming RM Auction in Phoenix, Arizona will have a chance to do on January 18, 2013.
Being offered is one of only 80 L88 Corvettes manufactured in 1968, and RM can trace the history of the most powerful Corvette of the muscle car era back to the original owner.
Mecum Auctions takes their quest to sell every car ever produced west this weekend for their inaugural Anaheim, California event. Around 70 Corvettes are up for adoption this Thursday through Saturday as part of the 800 car docket. You can watch 18 hours of live coverage of the event on Velocity.
Mecum Auctions will offer over 100 Corvettes for sale this week as part of their annual fall St. Charles auction. Sales kick off Thursday, October 25th and runs through Saturday, October 27th at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois. Velocity will provide 12 hours of live auction coverage from the event.
Vicari Auction Company announced that they will offer over 400 collector cars at their 16th annual Biloxi event October 12th and 13th 2012 held during the week-long Cruisin’ the Coast car show. Mecum Auctions will offer roughly 165 Corvettes for sale this week as part of their 2nd annual Dallas auction. The event kicks off Wednesday, September 5th and runs through Saturday, September 8th. The venerable Velocity crew will have 18 hours of live auction coverage from the event.
