Here’s a 2014 Corvette Stingray that’s attracting a lot of attention, especially in the Detroit area where Stingrays have become a common site. But the attention isn’t based on its stunning redesign, over the top performance, or the fact that it’s a limited production Premiere Edition Coupe. Nope, this Corvette Stingray ad is all about the price…$95,000!
Some dealers are offering $2,000 discounts on non-Z51 Stingrays.
But we haven’t heard of any discounts on Z51s – until now.
Of course, as usual, there is a catch.
It was back in September that we learned that Chevrolet would be building a “Premiere Edition” Corvette Stingray Convertible to compliment the 500 Premiere Edition Coupes that were announced in June. Now, Chevy has officially announced the limited edition model and surprise, they are mixing things up a bit for the drop top.
Back in June, the Corvette Team unveiled the 2014 Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition Coupe at the National Corvette Museum. The special launch edition coupes are all Laguna Blue with the 3LT Brownstone Interior and a Black Stinger hood graphic and 500 will be produced and allocated to dealers.
In our interview with Corvette/Camaro Marketing Manager John Fitzpatrick last Friday, we learned that once the Corvette Stingray Convertibles start production, 500 Convertible Premiere Editions will be built for dealers as well.
On Friday afternoon at the National Corvette Museum, Corvette Team Members Harlan Charles and John Fitzpatrick pulled the covers off of two cars to reveal the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Premiere Ediion. The Laguna Blue 3LT Brownstone Corvette Coupes will be specially numbered and limited to 500 examples.
On Friday afternoon at the National Corvette Museum’s 60th Anniversary Celebration, members of the Corvette team are marking the anniversary with the unveiling of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe Premiere Edition. The new launch-edition Corvette Stingray will be limited to 500 “loaded” 2014 Corvette Stingrays Coupes.
