Corvette Museum's Motorsports Park Recognized as Outstanding Facility of the Year

Well that didn’t take long.

The National Corvette Museum’s Motorsports Park has only officially been open for about four months in 2014, but that was long enough for the racing industry to take notice of the new race track in Bowling Green, KY.

At the Performance Racing Industry’s trade show in Indianapolis, the NCM Motorsports Park was recognized with the “Outstanding Facility of the Year” award which was presented by the the National Speedway Directory and Track Guide.

Back on Labor Day weekend earlier this year the National Corvette Museum officially opened their new Motorsports Park. The freshly minted facility recently held its first official High Performance Driving Event (HDPE) on September 27th and 28th. The National Corvette Museum’s Motorsports Park officially opened to the general public earlier this month, with about 200 people attending a grand opening ceremony at the Bowling Green, Ky., facility.

Thousands of Corvette enthusiasts already had a chance to see the park during the museum’s 20th Anniversary Celebration in August, but this time, the governor of Kentucky, Steve Beshear, was among the onlookers.

Corvette Museum's Motorsports Park Details First Year Goals

The ribbon-cutting was held just a few days ago, but the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park is already looking to be as big a smash hit as the C7 Stingray.

Mitch Wright, general manager of the Motorsports Park, says that the facility has already booked 189 days so far – well on its way to meeting its goal of having 200 days booked during its initial year.

On the morning of August 28, 2014, the National Corvette Museum officially opened the NCM Motorsports Park, a 3.15 mile race facility in Bowling Green, KY.

NCM Motorsports Park Names Road and Pavilion in Memory of Kimberlee Fast

Kim Fast certainly lived up to her name.

She started her racing career in 1997 and promptly became Rookie of the Year for the Corvette Club of Michigan.

Fast loved autocrossing and high speed events on road courses in the mid-west states, and she attended many events at the National Corvette Museum.

Ron Fellows Performance Driving School Partners with the NCM Motorsports Park

The Ron Fellows Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain has been named the “Official Performance Driving School of the National Corvette Museum” and “Official Partner of the NCM Motorsports Park.”

The announcement came last week during the museum’s 20th Anniversary Celebration that also featured thousands of participants in the National Corvette Caravan.
