Survivor 1963 Z06 Corvette Heading to Mecum Kissimmee

Here’s another rare Corvette taking part in the January auction frenzy next month. This rare red on black 1963 Corvette Z06 out of collector Rick Davis’ stable is one of the 199 built that year and will traverse Mecum’s red carpet Saturday January 26th around 2:40pm eastern time. It’s completely unrestored and has claimed Bloomington Gold and Survivor awards as well as claiming NCRS Top Flight and Chevy Vettefest honors.

Survivor 1969 L88 Corvette Convertible Heading to Mecum Anaheim

This highly documented, unrestored 1969 L88 convertible will be offered at Mecum Auctions’ Anaheim, California event this weekend. The LeMans Blue roadster is widely considered to be one of the most highly optioned and best documented L88’s known to exist. It is scheduled to cross the auction block about 1:20pm Pacific time this Saturday, November 17th.

The Pizza Man Ready to Deliver at Mecum St. Charles

What’s been called the “World’s Fastest Six Cylinder Corvette” will be crossing the block next weekend at Mecum’s annual Fall Premier auction in St. Charles, IL. This iconic drag racer beat up on the competition from 1962 – 1971 with Earl Britt behind the wheel. Britt operated Earl’s Pizza Palace in Sioux Falls, South Dakota when not setting ET records and winning multiple NHRA championships.

Corvette Auction Preview: Mecum Dallas 2012

Mecum Auctions will offer roughly 165 Corvettes for sale this week as part of their 2nd annual Dallas auction. The event kicks off Wednesday, September 5th and runs through Saturday, September 8th. The venerable Velocity crew will have 18 hours of live auction coverage from the event. According to the Mecum website over 900 total cars are currently consigned and Corvettes make up almost 20% of the docket. Corvette Auction Preview: Mecum Monterey 2012

Mecum Auctions will be in Monterey, California this weekend for their annual August sale. The auction runs August 16-18 at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa on Del Monte Golf Course. Velocity will have 18 hours of live coverage of the auction. Nearly 60 Corvettes are scheduled to cross the block including a black 1968 L88 roadster, Mickey Thompson’s 1963 Z06, and a COPO 1967 convertible shown at the NY Auto Show.

2009 SV 9 Competizione Headed to Mecum Monterey

We first told you about the Corvette-based SV 9 Competizione back in the summer of 2009. At that time there were plans to build as many as 1,000 of the custom coaches for just under $100,000 apiece. That was before SV Motors’ boss was indicted on investment fraud charges. It appears that just 4 of the carbon fiber-bodied cars were ever built.
