A group of Corvette owners has filed a class action lawsuit against General Motors, alleging that the company is not taking action to correct a problem with the 7.0-liter V8 engine used in the Corvette 427 and Z06 models from 2006 to 2013.
The defect automotive lawsuit claims that GM is aware that the Corvette engines have excessive valve guide wear leading to engine failure and repairs, despite the company advertising the high quality and durability of the engines.

We know that for the 2014 model year, the high performance LS engines are going bye-bye for Corvette and in their place will be the new Generation 5 LT1 V8s. It was back in May we first learned about the Endora SC-1, a new German custom coach that will be powered by America’s finest V8 Small block engines. As part of the NCRS national convention last week we were able to participate in a tour of GM’s Performance Build Center. The facility is located about an hour northwest of Detroit in Wixom, MI. The low-volume plant hand assembles all of the dry sump motors for Corvettes. Previously, they also made the powerplants for the Cadillac STS-V and XLR-V. You can learn more about this unique facility and take a photo tour with us after the break.
