After nearly three years of legal wrangling, it appears that the fight over the recently discovered and unrestored 1960 Corvette that was one of three Corvettes campaigned at the 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans by Briggs Cunningham has come to end. The Federal Judge overseeing the case has signed off to a partnership agreement between the three parties for the former race car which is estimated to be valued at $2.5 million.

[VIDEO] The Burnout Contest at the 2014 Corvettes at Carlisle

One of our favorite events at Corvettes at Carlisle is the Friday afternoon burnout contest. You’re never quite sure who’s going to show up and once the tires start spinning, anything can happen. This year’s event did not disappoint with three contestants in two white C4s and one custom C5 Corvette plus a demonstration from the father-daughter team of Lance and Ella Miller.

Vintage Purple People Eater Corvette Racer to be Displayed at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance

Sometimes you just can’t see the forest for the trees.

That was certainly the case for Ken Heckert, owner of a restoration shop, and Chip Miller, founder of what is now known as Carlisle Events.

Both those gentlemen were very familiar with Corvettes, but back in 1974 at an event called Post War ’74 (now Fall Carlisle), they discovered what they thought was just a regular old Corvette race car that they could bang around in. Little did they know…

The Corvette Hobby Comes Together for the 7th Annual Corvettes for Chip

Article contributed by Lance Miller / Corvettes at Carlisle / Chip Miller Charitable Foundation

The Corvette hobby lost an amazing person in 2004. My father, Chip Miller passed away from a rare disease called amyloidosis. Shortly after his passing, my family and I decided to start the Chip Miller Charitable Foundation (CMCF) in his honor and to raise awareness of this terrible disease.

The Corvette hobby was and continues to be the driving force behind the efforts and mission of the CMCF. My father was not only a wonderful person; he was also a best friend and mentor to me and many of my friends. His loss affected me in many ways, but most importantly to follow his mantra of “Life is good!” He was an incredibly positive, caring and generous person and his passing made me realize just how precious every minute really is and to enjoy the time we have on this earth.

Lance, of course, is the son of Corvettes at Carlisle co-founder Chip Miller, whose dream of honoring the historic 1960 No. 3 Corvette racer was cut short by a rare disease called amyloidosis.

Judge Allows Lawsuit over Ownership of the #1 Briggs Cunningham Corvette to Continue

It looks as if the parties in a lawsuit about the Briggs Cunningham Le Mans Corvette race car will be taking another lap around the track after a judge’s ruling this week.

The battle has already been going on for nine months after a 1960 Corvette commissioned by Briggs Cunningham for the 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans race turned up during a promotion at last year’s Corvettes at Carlisle.
