It’s the middle of May and that means its time for the annual Corvette Beach Caravan and Car Show. For the last 33 years, Dorthan, Alabama’s Circle City Corvette club caravans down to Panama City Beach, Florida for a weekend of Corvette fun and camaraderie. Special guests for this year’s show will include the 2014 Corvette Stingray, Corvette exterior designer Kirk Bennion and NCM director Wendell Strode.

Corvette Designer Sought to put Distance Between C6 and C7 Corvette

The 2014 Corvette Stingray made its West Coast debut at the big 60th Anniversary Corvette Celebration at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles a couple of weekends ago, and there for the occasion were several Corvette notables, including designer Kirk Bennion.

Bennion took a few moments to talk with a reporter from the L.A. Times to discuss his efforts on what is just the seventh generation of the 60-year-old sports car.

Chevy has released a new Corvette Stingray video on youtube and if you were paying attention, you would have seen some of that video was used in the first video teaser called CONCEPTION which dealt with the exterior design and aerodynamics testing. Now you can see the entire video which indeed shows the C7 Corvette Stingray.

Corvette Museum to Raffle Kirk Bennion's 2013 Night Race Blue Corvette ZR1 on Thursday

Since no one can buy a C7 Corvette any time soon, how would you like to have the next best thing sitting in your driveway before too long?

This week, the National Corvette Museum is raffling off a 2013 Night Race Blue Metallic ZR1 that even has a little more than the customary bling to it since it was the personal car of Corvette Exterior Designer Kirk Bennion. In counting down to the official reveal of the 2014 C7 Corvette, Chevy has launched www.one13thirteen.com to showcase details of the new sports car before its made public. The first video on the site was unlocked this morning and its called “Conception”.

The video features Corvette Team member Kirk Bennion talking about how form follows function. “Performance cars are definitely all about form follows function” Kirk says and then he adds “but I would say that beautiful form follows performance driven function”.

[VIDEO] The 2013 Corvette Seminar at Corvettes at Carlisle

Members of General Motor’s Corvette Team once again came to Carlisle, PA for the annual Corvettes at Carlisle Show and gave their annual “What’s New with Corvette” seminar.

Corvette’s Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter started off with the walk-around before turning it over to Dave Tatman, the Corvette Assembly Plant Manager. Also talking 2013 Corvettes were Harlan Charles, Corvette’s Product Marketing Manager and Kirk Bennion, Corvette’s Exterior Design Engineer. The Seminar took just a little more than 20 minutes to cover the latest and final Corvette models of the C6 era but it was well worth it and very informative to all those that were there.
