Our friends at Corsa Performance and the Corvette Cleveland club are hosting their 11th Annual Corvettes at CORSA car show this Sunday, July 28th. The event is free for spectators and runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organizers are expecting about 250 Corvettes to attend including the 2014 Corvette Stingray.
Just about everything about the upcoming 2014 Corvette Stingray seems to be preceded by the word “first.”
Now here’s yet another part of the seventh generation Corvette that’s leading the way for other cars.
The Corvette’s standard exhaust system will be the first vehicle to use Tenneco’s electrical valve technology for sound tuning to provide a unique signature sound when you drive this exciting beast.
A couple of weeks ago, a gaggle of 2014 C7 Corvette prototypes were caught being tested by a GM engineering team in and around the town of Red River, New Mexico. Many new revelations came from spy photos of those tests including the first pics of the newly redesigned seats and steering wheel.
This new video from Edmund’s Inside Line rehashes some of those items, but at the end we actually get a clear sound of the throaty exhaust sound coming from the Gen V small block which will power the new Corvette.

We’re pretty sure that most of you have parts from our sponsor Corvette Central somewhere on your Corvette. Recently we had the opportunity to stop in at their sprawling 70,000+ square foot facility in Sawyer, Michigan for a behind the scenes look at all the action that takes place there.
Corsa Performance is one of the leaders in providing Corvette owners with great sounding exhaust systems that provide performance gains without interior drone. But Corvette owners notoriously take pride in the look of their exhaust systems as well and so when we stopped by the Corsa booth at SEMA last week, they enthusiastically introduced us to their newest product – Corsa’s Black Diamond exhaust tips.
Aftermarket exhaust systems offer an alternative to the Corvette’s stock exhaust and some of the benefits usually include a bump in horsepower and a more aggressive sound. But as many aftermarket exhaust buyers have come to learn, it’s sometimes difficult choosing a new system because you don’t really get a chance to evaluate the tune of the exhaust side by side. Enter Borla Exhaust, who outfitted three Bondurant Grand Sport Corvettes to showcase their new exhaust systems in a new video released this week.
Tell me, is there anything more satisfying than the sound you hear when opening up your dual NPP exhaust valves under full acceleration? This custom Corvette ZR1 was surprising docile sounding under normal throttle, but once the traffic cleared in front of him, his foot hit the floor and we heard the monstrous LS9 open up in all it’s glory. The Corvette was so loud, it shocked those around it including the guy who was filming.
According to the 2009 SEMA Corvette owners study, we learned one of the first aftermarket changes made to Corvettes usually involves the exhaust system. Recently, we’ve been hearing about a new player in the high end market named Akrapovic and thought a closer look (and listen!) was in order.
Since the introduction of the dual mode performance exhaust on Z06 Corvettes back in 2006, owners have been doing this very simple mod to keep the NPP’s butterfly valves open so they can enjoy that deep exhaust rumble all the time. Since it’s such a popular and easy mod to do, we though we would make a quick video about the fuse and its location, as well as give you a couple of before and after sounds so you hear the difference.
