Earlier this week we had the privilege to tour the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green, KY to see how the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray is made. While we were there, we spoke with plant manager Dave Tatman about the changes to the plant, C7 production, quality assessments and resumption of public tours which begin on October 14th.
Chevrolet announced on Wednesday that Bowling Green’s Corvette Assembly Plant will resume public tours of the facility beginning Monday, October 14th. The tours give Corvette enthusiasts and the general public an up-close opportunity to see how the all-new C7 Corvette Stingray is built.
As you can imagine, life is pretty hectic at the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green right now.
Plant manager Dave Tatman took time out to talk to a crowd of 300 people Tuesday at the Barren River Area Development District’s annual luncheon at the National Corvette Museum just across from the assembly plant.

Two of the 2014 Corvette Stingrays will be on display for one day only, Saturday, July 13 during the 31st Annual Classic Auto Show and Cruise In at the Dublin Metro Center in Columbus, Ohio.
The National Corvette Museum welcomed a special visitor today. Rutledge Wood, co-host of Top Gear USA on the History Channel and a reporter for SPEED TV made a personal video to the NCM and toured the exhibits. During the visit, Corvette Assembly Plant Manager Dave Tatman brought over a new Velocity Yellow 2014 Corvette Stingray and we were told that Wood was “blown away” by the new C7.
Callaway Corvettes have a long history with Chevrolet’s sports car.
To commemorate that history that goes all the way back to 1987, Callaway’s Dealer Program Manager Chris Chessnoe gave key members of the Corvette engineering, product management, and production staff a copy of a new book by Reeves Callaway.
On the Saturday seminar at April 2013′s National Corvette Museum Bash, we got an update on all the happenings over at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant where the Chevrolet Corvette is built. Plant Manager Dave Tatman talks about closing out the C6 Corvette and preparing and building the C7 Corvette Stingray. He also talks about moving the Performance Build Center from Wixxom, MI to the BGAP.
It seems that where ever the 2014 Corvette Stingray goes, there’s an unveiling. Last weekend in the Corvette Corral tent at the 12 Hours of Sebring wasn’t any different.
With Corvette Chief Engineer beginning his discussion about the next generation car, Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles and Corvette Assembly Plant Manager Dave Tatman pulled the cover off the Cyber Gray Corvette Stingray Coupe to a huge round of applause (and a few tears) from the enthusiasts in the crowd.
The Corvette Team’s annual seminar to Corvette owners and enthusiasts at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring included a very special guest – the 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe. Team Members Tadge Juechter, Harlan Charles and Bowling Green Assembly Plant Manager Dave Tatman each spoke about the new 7th Generation Corvette and then answered questions from the crowd.
