The California Highway Patrol is asking for help from citizens who may know the identity of a C6 Corvette driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run accident early Sunday.
Authorities say witnesses saw a dark blue 2005 or 2006 Corvette with a removable hardtop strike a male pedestrian on the Highway 101 off-ramp for eastbound Highway 166 between Santa Maria and Nipomo, then speed off at high speed.

It could have been much worse, but let’s hope a 16-year-old’s joyride in his mom’s 1996 Corvette over the weekend was worth the heap of trouble he’s in now.
Seems the teenager took the sports car without his mom’s approval and wound up totaling the vehicle and ending up at the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
About the only thing you can understand from the narration on this German video is “Autobahn,” “Corvette,” “McLaren,” and “Dodge Viper.”
But in this case, a picture is indeed worth a thousand words, even if they are in German. That’s all you have to see to start crying about these once magnificent supercars.

At this rather large gathering of car enthusiasts in Turkey, we see a black C6 Corvette doing some impressive burnouts and donuts. As the Corvette wraps up its little show for the crowd, two other cars get in the act including an unknown maroon sedan with the obligatory passenger with a handycam hanging out the window. What happens next can only be described with a face palm to the forehead.

You may have heard about and seen the Top Gear chopper that was captured as it lost control and crashed into the dirt on a timely video shot by a man in Coolidge, Ariz.
What you may not have seen is additional footage that has just surfaced on YouTube that actually shows the speeding Corvette being filmed by the helicopter for a stunt on the popular TV show, then gives an in-copter view of what the crash looked like to the two pilots and shows onlookers rushing to check on the pair.

I wouldn’t technically call this a fail as fail usually denotes that the person behind the wheel of the car is somehow at fault for doing something stupid. So having said that, we came across an instagram tweet late this afternoon from @chrisgoulet that said the following:
“Has anyone seen my #vette? #corvette #fail”
We retweeted the photo and asked for details. @ChrisGoulet replied:
“Construction + double-lane left-hand turn = side-swiped and run off the road.”
After 34 years of marriage, Corvette Forum member “Sonny557″ and his wife probably thought they had seen everything possible. But then on their way back from their anniversary trip to San Antonio, they passed an older man in a Lincoln Continental towing his 1966 Corvette on a trailer.

If you’re not a Corvette aficionado you might not tell that this used to be a C4.
It was a busy Friday morning for 31-year old Joseph Ciambriello according the police in Lindenhurst, New York.
The man was first accused of creeping around an elementary school in the early morning hours. When school officials confronted Ciambriello, he told them he was a member of the CIA and then he fled in his black C6 Corvette. The school got his license plate and called in the security threat to police, who caught up with Ciambriello a short time later.
