Red Flag Stymies Corvette Comeback in Canada

BOWMANVILLE, Ontario, Canada, Aug. 29, 2010 – After an eventful two hours and 15 minutes of racing at Mosport International Raceway, a red flag brought the Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Mosport to a premature end. When the guardrail lining the high-speed Andretti Straightaway was severely damaged in an accident, officials stopped the race with 30 minutes remaining on the clock. After efforts to repair the guardrail proved futile, the race was subsequently restarted for a ceremonial final lap under caution. The No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R of Oliver Gavin and Jan Magnussen was fourth across the finish line in the GT class, followed by the No. 3 Corvette driven by Johnny O’Connell and Olivier Beretta.

Gavin and O’Connell Qualify in First Race with Revised Driver Lineup

BOWMANVILLE, Ontario, Canada, Aug. 28, 2010 – Corvette Racing drivers Oliver Gavin and Johnny O’Connell qualified their Compuware Corvettes fourth and sixth respectively for Sunday’s Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Canada at Mosport International Raceway. Both Corvettes posted their quickest times on their second qualifying laps on the 2.459-mile Canadian road course. Gavin turned a time of 1:17.668 (113.977 mph) in the No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R, and O’Connell clocked in at 1:17.794 (113.793 mph) in the No. 3 Compuware Corvette C6.R. Just .634 seconds separated the top six GT qualifiers.

Olivier Beretta will move to the No. 3 Compuware Corvette C6.R, joining Johnny O’Connell for the eighth round of the 2010 American Le Mans Series. Jan Magnussen will be reunited with former teammate Oliver Gavin in the No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R.

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., Aug. 22, 2010 – Corvette Racing finished third and fourth today in the seventh round of the 2010 American Le Mans Series at the fast Road America circuit. Oliver Gavin and Olivier Beretta followed up their runner-up finish at Mid-Ohio with a third today in the No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R after a charge from ninth in the final hour. They completed 66 laps on the 4.048-mile circuit and finished 4.945 seconds behind the winning No. 90 BMW of Dirk Mueller and Joey Hand. Jan Magnussen and Johnny O’Connell piloted the No. 3 Compuware Corvette to fourth, 8.405 seconds behind their teammates as the top nine GT cars finished on the lead lap.

ELKHART LAKE, Wis., Aug. 21, 2010 – Corvette Racing qualified first and second in the GT class for Sunday’s American Le Mans Series powered by eStar at Road America. Oliver Gavin set the time to beat with his fastest lap at 2:06.509 (115.192mph) in the No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R. Jan Magnussen responded with a 2:06.674 to put the No. 3 Compuware Corvette in the second qualifying spot, just .165 seconds off Gavin’s pole-winning time.
