Customers who use Android phones will be able to connect in select 2016 Chevrolets, thanks to a software update offering Android Auto compatibility that will be available in March through Chevy dealers.
Did you hear about the latest Nurburgring ring time recently released by an automotive manufacturer? No, it’s not the time for the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 which put down its laps in May, prior to a ban on manufacturer lap times. It was an Alfa Romeo Giulia Sedan which recently made headlines with a 7:39 time around the 12.9 mile Nordschleife.
Alfa Romeo released the time as well as some other performance specs during last week’s opening of the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
So can we please have our video, press release and most important, the Nurburgring lap time for the Corvette Z06? Pretty Please?
We’ve been documenting Forgiato’s love affair with the C7 Corvette since the beginning when a widebody Stingray was built for the 2013 SEMA show. Over the last two years, we’ve seen about a dozen different versions of the widebody Stingray built in all kinds of colors and wheel selections.
Now that Chevy is building their own “widebody” in the form of the Corvette Z06, we wondered what Forgiato would have in store for the 650 horsepower super car. As these pictures show, we are not disappointed.
Following its tradition of auctioning first VIN Corvettes with proceeds going to charity, we are pleased to see that the first 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R edition will be offered this weekend at Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas auction held at Mandalay Bay Casino and Resort.
Here’s a couple of things you don’t see every day – a Chrome C7 Corvette Stingray – and a wrecked Chrome C7 Corvette Stingray that crashed into one of those round barriers by some fuel pumps at a Shell Station.
I believe we’ve actually seen this Stingray before as it has been posted on social media numerous times. It’s hard to miss a Chrome Stingray. For the driver, it was the gas station’s fuel pumps that he just missed crashing into at this gas station in Marina Del Ray, California.
Each week, Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvette Stingrays and Z06s to his customers who come from all parts of the country to work with the nation’s top Corvette seller.
In this week’s dispatch, Mike shares photos of this new Long Beach Red Corvette Stingray with the new Motorsports wheels. We also see a cool garage from a customer in Arizona and we have a few photos of Mr. Criswell’s new 2016 Corvette Z06 Convertible. Mike also includes his weekly bevy of barn finds, old ads and other interesting Corvette pics.
Imagine driving your Corvette and you have the top off because it’s nice outside. You pull into a hotel parking lot to inquire about a room when suddenly your car is surrounded by a mob and your are punched in the face as they are trying to steal your Stingray.
According to a report on Fox2 Detroit, that happened to a man in Detroit over the Labor Day Weekend.
If you thought the C7 Corvette was amazing for getting about 30 miles per gallon of gasoline, then you haven’t seen anything yet!
At least that’s the word from Automotive News, which reports that General Motors is working on a new cylinder deactivation system that would shut down as many as six cylinders to increase fuel economy when the extra power isn’t required.
