Our new friend Jeremy Welborn attended the 25th Annual Lone Star Corvette Classic in Texas over the weekend and has given us permission to share some of his photos from the event. We picked a set of 50 images featuring everything from C1s to C7 Stingrays.
Checking the news this morning after a long weekend, I found this story on AutoSpies.com proclaiming that Chevrolet isn’t quite done with the C6 generation ZR1 yet. For 2014 and 2015, Chevy will still be offering not only the ZR1 in C6 form, but a special edition that’s been modified to run a 0-60 mph in 2.65 seconds and has a quarter mile time of 9.7 seconds at 140.2 mph.
It’s springtime which means that Corvette owners in the cold zones are beginning to extricate their cars from winter hibernation. That’s usually followed by a serious spring cleaning in preparation for the upcoming summer cruising season. But which product should one use on their ride? We recently tried out Adam’s Total Interior Detailer and the results of our toils await you after the break.
One of the common nuisances to C6 coupe owners is the creaking of the removable roof panel. If you own a C6 coupe you know we’re talking about. If not, just think of a never ending series of popping and/or creaking sounds coming from each of the attachment points on your targa top while you drive. The topic was discussed ad nauseum throughout C6 production and even spawned a GM Technical Service Bulletin to address the issue.
Corvettes and Dodge Ram pickups are a common sight here in the States but over in Norway we have to think they are an uncommon sight. Especailly when the Corvette is smashed to hell and the Dodge Ram Pickup is laying on its side. Throw in an Audi A4 for good measure and that’s the end result from a high speed crash that recently occured outide of Oslo, Norway.
It’s time for the Corvette community to rally around one of our own as an early morning fire Saturday destroyed the RPI Designs fiberglass plant in Beloit, Ohio.
RPI offers many C5/C6/C7 Corvette parts and accessories, ranging from custom body color painted parts to exhaust systems, grills, and more and says on its website that it’s shipped over 110,000 orders to satisfied customers since 1999.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the weekend blaze, which gutted the 8,000-square-foot plant that made plastic aftermarket parts for Corvettes and Camaros. No cause has been determined, but the building was insured.
Karen Bedell has always loved muscle cars, thanks to the influence of her slightly older brother, Keith Jarvis, as they grew up in Baton Rouge.
Still, the responsibilities of ordinary life prevented the Louisiana native from buying her first Corvette until just a few years ago.
