[ACCIDENT] Teen Driving a 1985 Corvette Ends Up in a Oregon Ditch

You’d never know from looking at these photos, but the driver of this totaled 1985 Corvette miraculously escaped with no serious injuries.

Unfortunately, the Corvette was a high school graduation gift from the grandfather of the unidentified 19-year-old driver, who is now a Portland Community College student.

Drag Strip Offers Friday Night Drags for Teens Who Like to Drive Fast

The need for speed is especially strong for young teen drivers.

Now, Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Ariz., is giving these young men a chance to drive fast under controlled conditions, hopefully keeping them safe from harm.

One such driver Friday night was 16-year-old Clay Armstrong, who drag-raced his first car – a C4 Corvette that reached speeds of 130mph in 12 seconds – with his mother’s blessings.

[VIDEO] North Carolina C4 Corvette Owner Injured After Hit and Run

A 61-year-old Corvette driver and father of four grown children out for a pleasure cruise Sunday, May 4 after he had just finished mowing his lawn turned out to be the victim of a hit-and-run accident in Concord, N.C.

Silvio Joseph Cadolino was listed in critical condition as of Friday, May 9 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, and police are asking for witnesses to come forward and help them track down the driver of the minivan that caused the wreck.

Corvette ZR1's Invade Indianapolis in Mecum's Upcoming Spring Classic

Like a scene out of Steven King’s novel “Children of the Corn”, it’s not children but rather Corvette ZR1’s that will invade Indianapolis May 13th through May 18th at the Indianapolis Fairgrounds when Dana Mecum kicks off his 27th annual Spring Classic auction. Though only a portion of the consignments have been listed at this point it appears that Mecum has cornered the low mile ZR1 market and will be sending them across the block.

Corvette ZR-1 Featured at Mercury Marine Museum

When we think of Corvettes, we naturally think first of the National Corvette Museum.

But that’s not the only place you’ll find rare Corvettes on display.

Mercury Marine – which built the 5.7-liter, 375-hp LT5 engine that powered the legendary C4 ZR-1 in the late 1980s and early 1990s – marked its 75th anniversary with the opening of a museum in Fond du Lac, Wis.

Naturally, that museum features a prime example of the ZR-1 Corvette, done in a sinister black with its hood up to show off the LT5 engine.
