Back in the 1970′s John Greenwood teamed up with Eckler’s Corvette parts to produce a run of wide body Corvettes. The entire kit could be purchased through the Eckler’s mail order catalog. Owners could choose several options including different width fenders, unique rear clips in addition to Sportwagon, Panelwagon, and hatch back rear end treatments. If you failed to order one these of kits back in the day, you’ve another chance at it with this Eckler’s Can-Am wide body we stumbled across on eBay.

Like many Corvette enthusiasts, I’ve always loved the look of the 1969 Stingray.
Here’s a fellow who took his love for the ’69 ‘Vette a step further.
“Ever since I can remember I’ve always wanted a ’69 Vette. So I built one,” says Brickdater.
Another edition of the Corvettes at Carlisle show has come and gone. Despite the in-climate weather, this show remains a must-attend as there is just so much see and do. In fact, I’d say that a day at Corvettes at Carlisle in the falling rain beats a day sitting behind a desk anytime!
At Corvettes at Carlisle, we walked and walked and walked some more. From the swap meet to the sales corral, from the Chevy Engineers tent on the Manufacturer’s Midway with the new Corvette Z06 to sitting up on the hill with friends and looking at all the remarkable Corvettes parked row after row, we saw it all.

We spent last Saturday with over 1 million of our closest friends at the famous Woodward Dream Cruise. The event is billed as the largest one-day car event in the world as 1 – 1.5 million people and 40,000 or so collector cars descend on historic Woodward Avenue in metro Detroit each year on the 3rd Saturday in August.
The team at Mecum Auctions recently announced that the “Black Corvette L88 once owned by Tony DeLorenzo will cross the block at Mecum!”
If you closely follow the blue chip Corvette market you probably think they were talking about the black 1967 L88 Corvette raced by Tony DeLorenzo and sold by Mecum in 2011. That car was the first documented Corvette L88 ever produced and it sold for $1.25M to Terry Michaelis whose intent was to return the car to its race delivery.
But Mecum’s recent announcement is not about that car, it is announcing the sale of another important L88, DeLorenzo’s triple black 1969 personal driver which will be offered in Mecum’s Dallas auction September 3rd through 6th.
The Mecum Dallas auction has become one of the premier auctions in the world for offering important and historic Chevrolet Corvettes. This year’s event is no exception and in addition to DeLorenzo’s L88 has several other excellent Corvettes crossing the block from blue chip collectibles to restomods.
On Wednesday we participated in yet another edition of the annual Corvettes on Woodward charity food drive. Hundreds of Corvettes gathered to support the Open Hands Food Pantry in Royal Oak, MI. Each year the get together takes place on the Wednesday night prior to the Woodward Dream Cruise and has developed into the main event in what is now a 3-day celebration of Corvette and cars in general.
Up for sale at VetteFinders.com is a 1972 LT-1 Corvette Coupe that is currently owned by our own Steve Burns who heads up CorvetteBlogger’s Detroit Bureau. Steve owns two Corvettes, the Blue 1972 LT-1 and a Cyber Gray 2009 Corvette recently featured in [Operation Air Flow], but recent family additions mean that two Corvettes is one too many, so the LT-1 has got to go.

The Mako Shark was GM VP of Design, Bill Mitchell’s vision for the follow up to the Corvette Stingray. Legend has it he was inspired by sharks he’d caught in the Bahamas. The design cues for this car can be seen in Corvettes that rolled out starting in 1968 model year.
