[GALLERY] Midyear Monday! (31 Corvette photos)

Happy New Year, Corvette lovers!

After a couple weeks of food, fun and family (and some Kentucky Bourbon!), it’s time to get back to the business of Corvettes and for me, the second generation is a great place to be. Here’s our first Midyear Monday photo gallery for 2016 and to celebrate, I even added a photo of my 1966 Corvette. You should be able to guess which one it is…

If you’d like to see your 1963-1967 Corvette featured here, feel free to send me a photo and we’ll see about posting it. The response has been good so far and as always, I appreciate your feedback.

What’s your favorite Corvette in this week’s gallery? I know which one is mine! Let us know and be sure to share this page on Twitter and Facebook.

[VIDEO] Sleeper C2 Corvette Sting Ray Runs in the 10s

Our friends over at the Corvette Forum are asking the important questions: “Can a Corvette still be considered a sleeper?”

This 1964 Corvette looks nearly stock as its waiting for its moment in the drag lanes at Cecil County Dragway. The second year of Sting Rays have a rich history in Corvette lore, but being known for ground-pounding quarter miles wasn’t one of them. Not only that, but the gleaming red paint, shiny chrome and skinny street tires all seem to tell everybody that this Corvette is here just for some fun and shouldn’t really be taken serious.

[PICS] Restored Barn Find 1965 Big Tank Corvette Wins Triple Diamond Award at MCACN

One of our favorite Corvettes from last month’s Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals was a fabulous 1965 365 hp black on black 1965 big tank coupe. You may not recognize it now, but it’s the same black on black big tank car we first brought you last summer from Bloomington Gold.

Back then the car was shown in all of its unrestored glory. Years of rust, dirt, and grime covered every inch of the car. It wore big fat fender flares on all four corners and an interesting home center mount exhaust exited the car out back.

[GALLERY] Midyear Monday! (36 Corvette photos)

Well, this is it! Our final Midyear Monday photo gallery for 2015 features 36 Corvettes built in the mid-1960s – hence the “midyear” moniker which has stuck for all these years.

I’d like to send out a round of thanks to those of you who submitted photos of their beloved Sting Rays for this post. I appreciated the response as it’s a great way to see some of our readers’ rides!

[VIDEO] Watch Six Generations of Corvettes Undergo Wind Tunnel Testing

Here’s an old video that just resurfaced on Carbuzz.com showing us how each of the first six generations of Corvettes behaves in the wind tunnel.

While the C2 and C3 Corvettes look slippery and did perform better than the C1 in the wind tunnel, aerodynamics weren’t really a buzzword when they originally were designed.
