Corvettes on eBay: 1953 Corvette #244 Unrestored Survivor

June 30th, 1953: the very first Corvette reaches the end of the assembly line in Flint, Michigan. Just 299 additional cars would be produced that year. Although no firm numbers exist, it’s generally assumed that 200 or so still remain in existence today. They don’t come up for sale very often, so act quickly as here is your chance to score VIN #244 while it’s for sale on eBay.

How many 1954 Corvettes can say that they’ve lived their entire life in the same city?

It seems that a Great Falls family bought the car new (or maybe a year old) in that city way back in 1955, and the Corvette has been there ever since.

Some folks might call his very nice Roman Red C1 a “survivor,” but the fact is that the previous owners were the kind of car fanatics who just plain took good care of their car while it was in their possession. This was no barn find covered in dust with boxes stacked on top of it.

1954 Hot Rod Corvette Gets a New Lease on life

To paraphrase country singer George Jones, this is one old Corvette that’s not ready for a rockin’ chair.

John Muller of Arizona always liked the way first generation Corvettes looked, but motoring down the highway in the 1955 he once owned wasn’t the ultimate driving experience.

Then he found a 1954 Corvette on eBay that he called “nearly a basket case.”
