There are a lot of significant Corvettes out there. The first fuelie, the first big block, the first car of any Corvette generation or model year, etc. Many of these cars get locked away in a museum and seldom, if ever, see use on the road. When we stumbled across this video of EX-87, “the Duntov Mule”, which now resides in the Lingenfelter Collection we had to pass it along. One of the features at last month’s Amelia Island Concours D’elegance was a class made up exclusively of Corvette styling cars. Included in the chic, invitation-only collection of cars was this Firemist Gold 1962 Corvette created under GM Shop Order #10224. It is believed that this one-off was an exercise to produce a 50th Anniversary package to celebrate Chevrolet’s golden anniversary.

An owner’s love affair with her Corvette never dies. Jill Struck’s relationship with her 1960 Corvette is proof of that.

Back in 1966, thanks to $100 in savings from a part-time job and a $1,000 bank loan, she was able to buy a 1960 Corvette in her neighborhood that she had been drooling over for years. 1960 Sebring Winning Race Rat Corvette to be Offered at Gooding and Co's Amelia Island Auction

This rare Corvette racer is one of just 10 “big tank” Corvettes assembled in 1960. At the 12 hours of Sebring that year the “Race Rat” won its class, finished 16th overall, and was the only Corvette to finish in the top 25. While perusing the plethora of flashy rides at Detroit Autorama we stumbled across this simply stunning custom 1962 Corvette dubbed “Sixty-Two Twelve”. The absolutely striking black roadster built by Cimtex Rods in Jarrell, Texas was being shown by Bruce and Judy Ricks of Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
