Barn Find 1963 Corvette Split-Window Coupe Stored for 41 Years Sells on eBay

We’ve all heard about the used car that was only driven on Sundays by a little old lady.

Well, here’s a 1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe that apparently really was driven by an older lady throughout its history before it was parked in a barn in 1973 and left there for the next 41 years.

The barn find was listed on eBay and reached $45,544 before the bidding ended early today.

1963 Split-Window Corvette Barn Find Covered in 33 Years of Dust

Here is an honest to goodness Corvette barn find that just saw the light of day in California. According to a posting on the Corvette Forum by “Bruce at Billet”, this original one-owner 1963 Corvette was last on the road in 1979. It was parked in that barn for whatever reason, where it sat untouched for 33 years.

Visitors to Bloomington Gold’s Great Hall this year were immediately greeted by barn fresh and very rare 1957 fuel injected Corvette recently rescued from years of storage before reaching the main display area. The car was presented with all the dirt, dust, and debris still present on it. The Bloomington Gold folks were taking a survey to learn the public’s opinion on what to do with the car. The 1961 Corvette continued its design evolution with the model year becoming the first C1 without the distinctive teeth grill as well as the first year to feature dual tail lights. However, my Black Book says nothing about a LEER camper option which makes me think this could be an aftermarket modification. The ad just hit Craigslist last night but you’ll find the description to be incredibly terse for someone trying to sell a classic Corvette.
