Corvettes on eBay: 1961 Corvette is a True Barn Find

There isn’t anything that stirs the imagination of a car enthusiast quite like the thought of finding an original barn car. Well, we’ve found one for you and it looks like this find is a keeper. Locked away in dusty Las Vegas area barn is this Silver/Red 1961 Corvette roadster. It hasn’t started, moved or seen a road in 44 years, but now it can be yours if you’re the highest bidder on eBay.

Corvette Auction Preview: Mecum's 25th Annual Spring Classic in Indianapolis

Mecum Auctions will offer nearly 200 Corvettes for sale this week in Indianapolis at their 25th Annual Spring Classic auction. Corvettes make up almost 10% of the expected 2,000 car docket. The event kicked off yesterday with “Super Tuesday” and concludes on Sunday, May 20th. The team at Velocity will provide 32 hours of live auction TV coverage. Take One Giant Leap with Neil Armstrong’s 1967 Corvette

Every little kid at some point in his or her life wanted to be an astronaut at one time or another. Only a very few actually end up living out there spacey dreams. Neil Armstrong did just that when he became the first person to step on the moon in July of 1969. Unfortunately, you can’t be the first person on the lunar surface, but you can at least drive his Corvette if you have the winning bid on eBay.

Corvette Auction Preview: Mecum Houston

Mecum Auctions rolls into Houston, Texas this weekend for their inaugural event there. The shiny new 2-day sale takes place Friday, April 13th and Saturday the 14th at the Reliant Center. The Velocity team will be sporting their very best blue shirts and khaki pants throughout their 12 hours of live coverage. Right now, there are over 60 Corvettes listed on the docket.

Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach: Corvette Sales Total $1.98 Million

Barrett-Jackson wrapped up their three day foray to the East Coast as their 10th annual Palm Beach Collector Car Auction concluded on Saturday. The 2012 car list was a bit lighter on Corvettes compared with the auction house’s previous Palm Beach sales, but we still witnessed 39 Corvettes ranging from a 1954 roadster to a 2008 Indy Pace Car replica being sold at no reserve.

Barrett-Jackson makes their annual Easter weekend stop in South Florida this Thursday, April 5th through Saturday, April 7th. Our friends at SPEED will have 21 hours of live coverage sprinkled across all 3 days.

The Palm Beach sale will have roughly 450 cars up for bid including 39 Corvettes which translates into about 9% of the total docket. Of those, all but 2 are being sold at no reserve.

Mecum Auctions next stop on their 2012 tour is this weekend in Kanas City, Missouri. The 3-day sale runs Thursday March 29th through Saturday March 31st at the Kansas City Convention Center – Bartle Hall. Velocity will have 15 hours of live coverage spread across all 3 auction days. As of this post, there are over 25 Corvettes scheduled to cross the block.

Auctions America by RM to feature 26 Corvettes from the Tony Parella Collection

The 10th Annual Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale sale hosted by Auctions America takes place this weekend in Southern Florida. Nearly 70 Corvettes will be offered among the 500 cars expected to attend including 26 pristine Corvettes from the private collection of Tony Parella. The impressive group consists of 1 car from each year 1953 – 1969 and other rarities from the 3rd – 5th generations of America’s sports car.

1960 Sebring Winning Race Rat Corvette to be Offered at Gooding and Co's Amelia Island Auction

This rare Corvette racer is one of just 10 “big tank” Corvettes assembled in 1960. At the 12 hours of Sebring that year the “Race Rat” won its class, finished 16th overall, and was the only Corvette to finish in the top 25. It’ll cross the block on March 9th, 2012 at Gooding and Company’s Amelia Island sale.
